BAyside Marine should have burlap sacks.  Also, check the coffee roasting companies in town.  that one in Aptos on Soquel sometimes has 'em.  they will just give them to you there.

did you get a boat?

Yakhaopper, thanks man!!!

Allen, Thanks too you as well brother. YES!!!! Well.... I pick it up in two weeks or less, what i did was pay half now, and half in a week or two then i bring her home!!!!

I went with the Trident 13, I got the non angler... I know boooooooo, but thats all Kayak Connection in santa cruz had, and I got a decent deal the last day of their sale, which was yesterday! Either way Im fully stoked and cant wait to get her in the water! I figured Id just mount the rod holders to the milk crate. Eventually Ill need the rod pod installed, not sure if its hard to do, if it is, ill have a pro do it, if not ill give it a go.

Got a VHF too, just need a paddle and a PDF.

Paddles are big bucks, any suggestions on length or type, i cant spend the big bucks, i got a little girl to take care of and want to minimize my spending..

thanks for saturday, I sure love being out there, i like it better then my old power boat days.

Angler editions can be overrated IMHO. You can customize it yourself now. When I started I used a 14' SIK, a rod & a tray of plastics, and a fish bag. No electronics, no holders, no gaff, no crate. Minimalist is the best way to begin.
Congrats on the new boat! Glad you got a good deal thru Kayak Connection.
I had the opportunity to check out Aaron's new Trident 13 & it looks like a great platform.

Since you went with the T13 (good choice BTW) you may want to pass on the milk crate and use a plano box (see link) they fit perfectly in the space behind the seat and only cast about $15 - 18. This set up will leave majority of the tank well area avail for your catch and other crap you'll take. I promise you that with the crate you'll just take more crap that you'll never use. I think there is a post on the OK board 'How I pimped my kayak"

Get free burlap sacks at coffee shops, not necessarily even the roasters - ask around, not all have them but some do.

Nice choice on the T13! I agree about the Plano 1612 box.It fits perfectly in the mold and you can easily add holders with stainless hardware.Personally I just use a game clip and dunk the fish periodically.

yep...I went cheap and made rod holders from PVC. I heated up the end and flared the top by pushing it down on a beer bottle. Drill a couple holes mount with hardware that Aaron mentioned (I can send you a pic when I get home) and wa-la! three rod holders for less then $5

I can feel your excitment,,,,congrats on the new boat

if you're attaching your rod holders (PVC pipe) to your box, make sure nothing protrudes into the rod holder that would interfere with the rod going in and out freely.  Guess why I know about that one. :smt010
