Went out of the harbor this morning (Mon) with a friend.  Tried for rockfish outside of Natural Bridges in 70'.  The wind chop and swell was nauseating.  Plenty of fish showing but they weren't biting.  Went inside to 30 feet, outside of the Boardwalk, the water temp was 60 degrees.  Caught two halibut but only one was a keeper, 24"...dinner!   Thanks for looking.  Dan

Thats a great sign for Santa Cruz. Good for you for changing horses and getting a fish. Thanks for the post. Did you use artificials for the halibut?

Ah yes and tactfully asked, I used artificials.

Hey Dan, Nice fish. I'm going to have to get out there again and give the Hali's another try.

WTG on the halibut Dan. That would definitely make some fine dining tonight.

Good fishing.

Two halibuts in SC w/ artificials this early bodes well for the fisherman and the fishery.

Way to go. Were the butts lethargic or fiesty?
