Two tips for ya. First, when you mount the backing plate, use the stainless steel thread anchors pressed into the plastic cutting board, and two. Be sure to glue the rubber tips onto the tubes before you loose em fishing.  :smt002


 ????? The mounting is fine and secure. The slippage comes from the tube base moving on the ball when applying downward pressure of more than two pounds.


Sorry about the dino Zee. I hold onto the rod at all times if I can while fishing for Sturgeon.  I guess the rod leash is just for my own dumb moves like dropping stuff. :smt044

i am dissatisfied with my articulating ramtube/elbow joint.  it is not strong enough for butt trolling.  i may sand my balls or swcth to a straight tube

i put a screw in my ram ball to prevent rod holder from sliding around.  i will post up the results after my next trip

Kingfisher I to have the same problem with the ram mount moving while trolling for halibut, did that screw do the trick for you.

pat r-i drilled and then screwed, zinc#10 wafer head, 3/4".  seems to work, but i should have place it higher on the ball.  currently it is at 90 degrees in relation to the deck.

I tried what mickfish said. I sanded my balls and the inside of the shaft mount. :smt044 Anyway it doesnt slip anymore and my wife loves me for it. :smt007
