Hi Guys.  I haven't been around much, but I haven't been diving much since the NCKA cortez trip either.  I dove the sunday after the ab opener with my brother and a friend.  I thought the water would still be dirty from the week of 20 knt winds, but we had 10-12 ft of vis.  I spent the first 3/4 of the dive taking pictures.  I pulled a few scallops got cold (it was in the high 40's) and got out.

The pictures are:
China rockfish
Cabezon
Cabezon's head
Cabezon's eye
1 scallop
3 scallops

Totally awesome shots!  What kind of camera you sportin', Justin?

Cabezon all camo'd out in their natural habitat are one of the most beautiful things anywhere.   :smt007

Incredible eye!
I am awe struck.
I have never gotten a scallop. How the heck would you farm that thing?

Nice shots.  Bet you're using UW flash since colors are so vivid!  Thanks for the report and pictures.

Nice shots. Were you free diving or scuba? How deep were the scallops? Mike

Justin, those pictures are just fantastic. I ditto what Mike asked. How deep were you diving? I have found scallops at Fisk Mill in 30ft. I found one at just 15ft years ago at the south end of Fisk Mill. Thanks so much for posting. These photos are national geographic quality. Do you mind if I download some of them for my desktop screen? The eye shot is just too much!

Nice work as always brother.  For those of you who don't know him he isn't just a freediving super hero, but a great photographer and an incredible film maker.

Here are a few of my favorite vids he has made (be prepared to feel inspired but VERY mortal)...

Oh yeah...he also makes all of his own spearguns by hand.
