Pat,

What model Humminbird is that?

Your set-up looks super clean!!

Thanks for sharing!

Sincerely,

Jim

Sounds like someone is getting ready to drill and PIMP!

Yeah you right Eric!!!  :smt003

Gotta convince Ana what a great Father's Day gift the FF will be, then hopefully Porky and Al can help me with the drilling/set up cuz I am sure I would screw it up!!   :smt009

They already offered, so I plan on cashing in, and paying them in beer and fried fish!!!

Sincerely,

Jim

yeah...just tell her look at the money I saved on the boat! If you can afford the cash the hummingbirds with scupper transducer is a great set up. Otherwise the cheap cuda 242's work well.

Yeah I would like to get the Humminbird...just want to make sure I get a model that will work with the SonarShield and Scupper Transducer thingys and will also give me the biggest bang for my buck...looks like there are definitely some models that are fancier/pricier than others...I don't need nothing too fancy cuz I probably couldn't figure it out anyways!!

they pretty much all fit....you just need to decide color or BW and GPS or non GPS...My vote would be BW and GPS

Jim

JIm,

It looks like either a 535 or maybe 565? I've got the 535 and I love it!!

Thanks for the input Rich...the 535 is in the price range I am thinking about:

http://www.amazon.com/Humminbird-Fishfinder-535/dp/B000J2CPYS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274987515&sr=1-2

EWB, seems like once you add the GPS capability onto them they jump up in price quiet substantially.

Sorry for the massive threadjack...I get carried away sometimes...

Sincerely,

Jim

Jim,

I really like mine, its got a nice large screen, and the fish ID option works well.I pulled a bone head stunt last year at Albion, rolled the yak. The 535 eventually died from the soak, and Humminbird relaced the whole head for $80.00. Now when I'm launching or beaching in surf (which is all I seem to do anymore), I pull the unit, put it in a ziplock, and stow it in the front hatch.
