That's crap that this happened to you, Jeff.  Sorry, Man.  What kinda moved me though, reading through this thread, was the pic of your ride with the yak on top - I felt especially connected to you seeing that.  Pisciform's got it right -

  That guy probably thinks he got away with his stupidity!  Little does he know!  It sucks that you had to go through this.  I had a hit & run on a my brand new 89' VW (back then) when it was parked out fron of my residence at that time.  Some AH backed out of the seedy hotel across the street, and into my car, and left.  I discovered the dented pass side rear quarter panel in the morning at work!

probably why that guy left.  he recently bought the car and it wasnt registered to him yet and probably not insured.

I bought used cars before.  All he needed was to call his car insurance agent and tell him/her about the newly bought car and it'll be coverred right away.

If I just bought a car, first thing I would remove is the for sale sign, I wouldn't be rolling around with it still on.....even on the trip home.  I wouldn't wait till tuesday, call the supervisor of the officer that is handling the case and have them send someone out before the dbag sells the car. 

Maybe d-bag was just test driving the car, hence the differing id's of dbag and vendor, as well as the lack of insurance; dbag could have been driving under vendors insurance, or just told vendor he had insurance while he took ir fot a test. Or maybe dbag stole it from vendor. All reasons not to get the police involved.

Either way, there can't be that many civics with maroon spoilers driving around stockton, so if dbag has half a brain he's going to get rid of the car very very soon...........
