With so much other food coming, I just don't want to go through the trouble of lugging my smoker up there and baby sitting the pork for 10 hours.....maybe another time.

I will think of something else.  I'm thinking kabobs for the grill.

Why not smoke it at home and bring it to Mendo?  You still have time.
You got us so jazzed about your smoked pork... you might have a lynch mob waiting for you at Mendo if you show up without it !  :smt075 :smt040

Got some work related challenges scheduled so I can be there. Hope to arrive early Friday afternoon. Will leave early Sunday morning. Have a plane to catch in the afternoon.

Due to the unrelenting taunting by Mooch and others, I will be making a big pot of the now famous HMB chill.

Is there enough room for twenty something tents at this campground?

People are gonna be saying - "Where the hell did all these kayaks come from?!?!"

Gettin' antsy. See you cats on Friday.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

My son's second birthday party is saturday, so I'll be drinking beer and grilling short-ribs instead of fishing.  I think my wife realizes that her HAF is kind of low from being cooped up, so I may fish somewhere on sunday.

I may have to bring my flack jacket.  I may have a difficult time smoking the pork tomorrow.....We shall see.

How many are bringing camp stoves?  I don't have one and we need a way to reheat the pork if I smoke it.

Crap, I will just have to bite the bullet and do it.

hey, did we ever get gps coordinates for the camp?

Anyone got a camp coffee pot?  Any nearby stores?  Should I just bring the vivarin?

I will have a camping stove if you need to use it.  One side is a gas burner and the other a grill.

Last night's thunderstorms have screwed me over. I have to stay home and harvest grapes otherwise the crop will rot on the vine and I will have wasted a year worth of work and have no wine to drink =(.  I am going to sulk now and try to suffer over some salmon fishing.

OK,

Since there is so much food, I bailed on the huge pork smoke, but I did find a nice 5# butt today, and I am putting the overnight rub on now.

I am going to smoke it tomorrow so you will get to sample my famous pulled pork, albiet reheated (actually some claim it is better this way....).

5# of blade in butt translates to around 3# of edible meat and thus about 12 sandwiches which I figure is about right with all the options that people will have.

Good stuff maynard, this is REAL BBQ not that grilly girly stuff!

Should take around 8 hours on the smoker to come out ok.

You all best appreciate it!

 :smt003

I am so fired up for this thing it is ridiculous.
