I am sure we can manage to scrounge up a cat for some Jambalaya!!

I had some gumbo, crawfish pasta and bengiets tonight, yummy!

Damn, you guys are making me hungry.  By the way I lost my football game today because my kickoff return guy for some reason thought the ball was dead and let the other team pick it up on the 3 yard line and score.            I'm drinkin and dreaming of mendo!!!

I'm "planning" to come and may bring some other people with me. How much is it for guests / tents?
Also, since it's a free fishing day on Saturday, where can my guests throw a line and maybe catch some fish? What kind of rigs / bait is suggested?
I plan to bring my special bacon wrapped asparagus and a video camera to capture this event.

Elric the camp site is paid for so I am pretty sure guest can just crash where ever. Then can fish from the shore as it is right near the camp. I would suggest some catfish setups but it has been soooo long since I did any catfishing I am not so sure what that means exactly.   Something stinky on a hook and a weight to keep it in place.

My catfish setup is my inshore rod.

Right now it is spooled with 30# powerpro.

Rig is a simple carolina rig type setup with cut and cured (sugar and salt) mackerel.

I'll be there for the weekend. I went to Costco yesterday and bought a big bag of chips along with some salsa and guacamole. I will also bring a cooler full of sodas.

I have had alot of luck with a mackerel cured in brown sugar and molasses, cut it up, and add B sugar and Molasses and put it in a sealable dish in the "extra" frig in the garage, to insure no loss of WAF.

After a bit of thinking, I figured that the two rod stamp was a license not gear issue, so I called DFG on it.  I will let you know when I get the answer.

Does anyone know the current water temp?

Boy, it has been a long time since I fished a lake for catfish.

Are there blues in the lake, or just channels?

What's the weather like up there? Does it get freezing at nite? I suppose in the day we can get away w/ shorts?

Hobie, it is pretty late in the season for yellowjackets, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some.

If your wife feels better about it, you could go buy a couple of yellowjacket traps and place them out of the perimeter of the campsite to attract them away from the site...
