Davenport - Non-Yak Perchin

Went out with my buddy Angel with some of his family and friends to Davenport for some surf fishing.  Fairly windy, lots of those wake boarders with big kites out in the water, but overall a fair day to hit the beach. 

Caught 3 BSP, one Redtail, 2-3 Rubber lips? and a baby stripper!  Angel and his friends had a bit better luck using shrimp than I did with grubs and pileworms. I had a blast! 

Got a lil' bit sun burnt  , but feeling so nice and relaxed after a day at the beach!

Have some pics, but wont have the camera cable to download them till tomorrow.

Dude what the hell??? You are A fishing machine!!! Wat to go on the mixed bag. I still havent caught A fish in the surf. ..Im jealous!!

  Thats scott Creek Beach.  Very popular with kite surfers, sail boarders,  Last time I surf fished there I was skunked,  We've unleased a perch killer! 

WTG Al. I've only fished Scott's Creek once and had a great day. I caught mostly walleyes with a few BSPs mixed in but I had a 16 fish evening. The beach can get really steep there. Gotta watch your back when you are fishing here.

Yeah... Actually I heard this on the radio on the way to work:

"DAVENPORT - The Coast Guard search for a Los Gatos teen missing in the water south of Davenport was called off early this afternoon.

The 17-year-old boy, Dennis Cyncor-McMillian, a Los Gatos high school senior, was reported missing at 4 a.m. after he and a friend went swimming in the surf of a rocky cove and the boy didn't make it back to the beach."

That is really sad. The ocean up north of SC can be so unpredictable. Just goes to show....you gotta respect the ocean. The moment you don't, it servers up a reminder. My thoughts go out to his family. So young...
