Well that time of the year is upon us and the bass are getting more feisty with every degree. So when you pull your tackle box and load up for LMB I'm sure there are at least 5 lures that are total go to's. The ones that seem to just produce year after year. So what's your top 5?

The Banjo lure of course.  :smt044  Joking aside I think minnows have produced the best for me.

in order:
  • 1/2 oz black jig with a Reaction Inovations Sweet Beaver Hematoma color trailer
  • Snag Proof Bobby Barack Perfect Frog - Wild Bullfrog color
  • 3/8 oz. Mega Bait white w/ red spinnerbait twin willow chrome with a trailer hook
  • Texas Rigged 6" Berkeley Gulp worm - pumpkin w/gold flake
  • Deer Hair FROG Bass popper- green/yellow/white

With me it is all about the strike...I LOVE topwater action! But if I had to eat the bass because I was starving, I would forget the lures and fish with live Bluegills as bait under a float. ( It should be illegal)

Topwater Rocks!  But I throw what works at that time of year.

Poppers
Bobby's perfect frog
buzzbait
zara spook (or other walker)
crankbaits

I'm sure that swimbaits and wake baits will be on the list as I start throwing those more.

The T-rigged worm has caught me a lot of fish as well, but that would be 6.

-  jig
-  senko
-  t-rigged worm
-  spinnerbait
-  frog

I struggled to keep it to five.  When it is on there are five different topwater weapons that I wouldn't leave home without!  Yep, I'm a tackle whore.  If there was spot for a sixth, I would have to add the crankbait.  Since fishing with Bryan (HobieBlue), I went from owning 3 to about 15.

I struggled to keep it to five.

ME TOO!!! It would be very hard for me to leave the dock without a buzz bait, a Zara Spook or my Lucky Craft Sammy's and LV-300's. I was thinking only 5 lures would be like fishing naked!

My rigs usually differ quite a bit from lakes to the delta and based on the time of year as well.

Here is my top 5 for the delta in the summer.

1. 7 in curly tail work in dark colors
2. Senko in dark colors
3. Light colored frog
4. Buzzbait - Chart with a metal blade
5. Spinner bait - Chart with chrome blades
