UPDATE:  I went out of Tiki Saturday and found a few fish willing to bite.  Next Saturday the tide is low in the morning, but high in the afternoon (high tide 2:45).  The weather looks good so far for next weekend.  The fish bit on shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits worked over the top of weedbeds, and pitching worms into shallow flats.  Red cranks, chartuse spinnerbaits, and black/dark worms.  At low tide the bite is tough, so be patient; the bite should improve throughout the day.

Have a good week, see everyone Saturday.

Are they still offering a free launch to kayaks?

Yes the launch is still FREE!  Not many places left that offer that on the Delta.

I would love to join you guys, if you don't mind. I'll have my older son w/ me and probably even my dad - 3 generations outing (what a gift in life!)
Hopefully I'll get my thru-hull transducer from humminbird back in time & will get to test my new FF.

OK HobieBlue, I just got back from Hi's Tackle and got a bunch of lures and even a little Fishin Magician (sorry, 6'6" baitcasting rod).  I am ready to go.  See you at 6 on Saturday.  Are we going rain or shine?

Now to find the treasure - I don't see X on that map...
Barring any unforeseen circs, I'll be there.
Actually, looking at this again, it's starting to be a bit of a crowd. If the original group goes Sat, maybe I'll wait & go Sun (or vise versa), along with anyone else. Might be best to cap the # of people on this one. Bryan, what do you think?

The weather reports were okay so far...maybe a bit windy, but no rain was the latest.  Looks like all systems go!

I haven't found any X's on the delta yet this year (so far)!  But with the size of the party on Saturday, we may find a few...but be sure to leave those delta jewels swim free so that next year they won't be so hard to find!

peteb--glad you are set, I like that sized baitcaster, and it should be okay for you.

ricksanz--all are welcome.  I told Tiki that we had about 10-12 people, but I hope they won't mind a few extra.

If your car/truck has a trailer, park in the trailer lot below the ramp (follow the arrows).  If not, park by the restrooms.

pisciform--That's fine with me...I just hope Tiki doesn't change their kayak policies after this one.  Maybe Jeff would not mind taking a small group to launch at "his spot" and ease the pressure on Tiki, which doesn't have the largest parking lot around.

Yea, I'm thinkin' it might be a bit much for this outing, & it would suck to lose one of the last remaining free yak launches. The delta is a big place - I might find another spot & if anyone else wants to go, they could meet me there. I'll post another reply if that works out.

Hey guys since this is becoming a bigger turnout I have talked with Bryan (HobieBlue) and my honeyhole and launching spot is nearby. If some of you guys wanted to hook up with me for a free and easy launch shoot me a PM and I will give you directions. But I am wanting to keep this between us NCKAers please. I'll show you guys around and we can meet up with the other group.

Jeff

I'm happy to launch at either location. Maybe a final roll call Friday evening. And if were a bit group we can split it up. Oh and are we looking at as far as a launch time? Still 6 ish?

Launch at 6:30 tp 6:45 or whenever.  I'll be there at 6 am to offer a quick bass fishing review for those who need it/want it.  I'll go over lure selection, presentation, and rigging tips.  Quick and simple stuff.

Sounds like the over-all numbers are still managable--no problems.  Tiki Lagun has a campground/picknick area for lunch @ noon.  Bring your own.

rollcall: myself, Jeffrm20, pisciform, ewb, peteb, jonesz, Ariel Sea, Eric B, flyaker, Bird, ricksanz + 2, and maybe Brian G.

That makes 13 and maybe 1 more.  Sounds like a fun group to me.
