Inviting anyone interested in a day of delta bass fishin' on March 7th or 8th weather pending.  Tiki Lagun.  Maybe get a posse of about 6 to 10 guys/gals out there.  I usually spend up to 8-9 hours out there.

Catch & release only please...
==========================================================================================================

UPDATE:  I went out of Tiki Saturday and found a few fish willing to bite.  Next Saturday the tide is low in the morning, but high in the afternoon (high tide 2:45).  The weather looks good so far for next weekend.  The fish bit on shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits worked over the top of weedbeds, and pitching worms into shallow flats.  Red cranks, chartuse spinnerbaits, and black/dark worms.  At low tide the bite is tough, so be patient; the bite should improve throughout the day.

Have a good week, see everyone Saturday.

Me too.  I would love to get in on that.  Chartreuse crank baits?  Texas-rigged worms?  What do I bring, exactly?

Delighted to make it C&R.

Thanks HB. I'm in if it's on 3/7. Think I have a conflict with 3/8.
Take care - John

Peteb, I would bring the following gear:

rods: a baitcaster and/or spinning rod, medium to medium heavy 6-7 foot, with 12-15 pound test.  The rods should have a solid backbone and a fast tip.

baits:
  • 6 to 8 inch worms in dark colors, bullet weights from 3/16 to 3/8 oz, and 1/0 to 3/0 Gamakatsu worm hooks.
  • shallow to medium diving crankbaits in white and in red
  • spinnerbaits white and chartruse, or a combo of both
  • 1/2 to 3/4 ounce weedless jigs dark black/brown with blue or purple trailers
If you need gear or baits, I've got loaners available.

I'll tenatively pick March 7th for now...sorry if that doesn't work for you  :smt009

Tiki Lagun has campsites (call them for info) too I believe, for those who may be traveling or those who want a two day trip.

Hopefully the weather and the fish will be in a good mood.  If Sunday's forcast looks a lot better I may switch the date to the 8th.

See you there...

roll so far: ewb, jeffrm20, alfredo, bird, peteb, yakattack, tarpon120, and myself.  Sounds like a good group is forming.
