I get off duty Saturday morning, so that just might work out for me. I'll be a little late tho. Don't get off till 7 am, so I could be there driving time from the bay area. I may camp over night Sat depending on the fishing.  :smt002 I'll know more as it gets closer.
thanx Bryan.

I'd be honored to fish with you cats, if you don't mind!  Thanks for the kick in the pants...  been meaning to schedule a delta trip, and here it is.

I'm off Friday if anyone wants to do some pre-event scouting.

I might have some jigs, worms, weights, and other plastics that I would be willing to donate. I will check tonight and post up what I have.

Ariel Sea--thanks for the info and directions.

I'll add Eric B, Ariel Sea, Jonesz, and InSeine to the list.

It's a bit more than expected, but what the hell, why not.

For those that would like a bit of a bass101 review, I'll be there early (6 am) to run down the basics in gear, lures, and strategies.  Launch at 6:30-6:45.  Stop in for lunch around 11:30, and head back out for the afternoon.

As with any outing, make sure you have your basic safety gear: pdf & cold water (it is still in the mid 50's out there) protection in case you go for a swim.

This sounds like a great time, but I can't make it.
I offered to take a couple friends from work bass fishing at a local lake.
It will be their first time fishing from a kayak. Glad I have the extra mini's.

Have fun! Al

hey, Brian -
Looking forward to joining you next weekend for C&R fishing.   I just bought some new bass gear i need to figure out how to work.   Of course, i will have my fly rod as back up.

Peteb, I would bring the following gear:

rods: a baitcaster and/or spinning rod, medium to medium heavy 6-7 foot, with 12-15 pound test.  The rods should have a solid backbone and a fast tip.

HobieBlue I have a baitcasting setup with a 8'6" graphite rod.  Is that a little bit long for this kind of fishing?

thanks

Yeah, it is a bit much (longer is not always better).  For bass fishing this time of year, we need to be able to pitch worms/jigs into some small pockets tight to cover, so accuracy is essential.

I'll bring a smaller (6'6") medium spinning rod & reel that should work better for you.

No worries.  I have a 7' spinning rig I use for inshore rockfish.  I will bring that.

Looking forward to Bassin 101.  It has been a few years for me.
