I was surprized to see how much water has risen in the lake now after last weeks rains!  Looks like a "Soy mocca latte" right now though.  The new water works stuff that was put in, well the lowest level opening is just about under water now.  The next storms due in later today /tomorrow will certinally help filling it!

So they have finished the work? At least enough to let the res fill up?

I don't know.  I don't see construction equipment anylonger down the bank, although there was pickup truck parked or stuck down on the flat that was visable from HWY17 this morning.  I do see lots of vehicles parked above the N bound side 17 so maybe the tunnel work isn't complete yet?

http://www.valleywater.org/media/lenihan/tunnel_progress_large.jpg   I guess the tunnel workis done!

Yes, the reservoir has resumed normal operation. Construction isn't complete yet (laying pipe in the tunnel [minds out of the gutter, please], outlet structure on the creek, control house, etc.), but water levels should not be adjusted any further due to the project. Construction crews should be getting out of there completely this fall. Don't know if they'll open it back up to boating though (quagga mussel inspection requirements).

Shhh... don't tell anyone. A fish screen was installed to monitor the fish exiting the reservoir downstream to Los Gatos Creek. A mass exodus was expected, but never happened. And the best part - not one largemouth bass left the reservoir downstream. I'd imagine they ate well with the concentrated fish pool.

Now how do we get going on Papa Bill's grand plans to establish a striper fishery on Lex?

  Wow
The lake level is really rising now, after a full weekend of steady nonstop rain!  Friday on my way home, the lowest intake  on the new construction was just out of the water by feet, well today it was completely submerged.  Hard to guesstimate the actual level,(At 50mph) but comparing it to the opposite bank, it looks just under half full now, but again hard to say.   Water has not started to pool on the HWY17 side though, so I don't think it's at half yet.  The level is just starting up the flats near the HWY.

I did read somewhere in the link I posted that no fees are required for lake use, which I thought was odd as before all the construction back when the lake was open, they did require lake use fees, via envelope & drop pole, then an electronic ticket dispenser.  I also remember reading that inspections would be taking place.

That was my favorite lake to fish before the draining.  Living off Summit road made it so convienient to have some fish fun.  I hope the lake rebounds quick so I can meet some more yak fisherpeeps.  Just got to get my Bro Sands to Water to give Stevens creek a break to go after the fish there.

Yesterday on my way home I noticed that the lake on the west side of HWY17 is starting to pool water!  And the main lake is continually rising!

I noticed the water level is now on its way to the middle outlet!  Won't be long till it reaches it!

Scoped out the water level Vs the next water outlet, and the water level is closing in on the next opening!  From the HWY the level appears to be with in 10' or so of the middle column opening!
