I've always wanted to fish this lake, never had the chance, and hopefully I will this spring

Jeff

Hope we all get to.  It can be pretty fun, and its really near my house.

if/when the res is full we should coordinate a south bay hook up. I have fished Lex a few times. And intel on Lex is minimal at best.

As far as I know they will not open lexington for boating. That is unless you belong to the Santa Clara row club....  :smt013 So if you guys want to fish it, it's going to be from the bank. :smt011

Boating is against County Ordinace in Lexington. You will get a ticket if caught.

From their web site

Welcome to Lexington Reservoir County Park. This beautiful and scenic 914-acre park and reservoir is just minutes from the urban centers of Santa Clara County. The park includes the 475 acre man made reservoir available for non-gas powered boat use and fishing.

Hobie Outback.   Motorized boating is not allowed. We've kayaked there before, and people have brought sail boats in as well.

Here's the relevant clip from Compa's link.  BUMMER!!

~~

"Based on new protocols, inspectors will perform visual inspections on every watercraft entering Anderson Lake, Coyote Lake, Calero Reservoir and Stevens Creek Reservoir. All other county reservoirs will be closed to watercraft, except by special permit."

~~

I guess that means LGRC has a special permit.  Maybe i'll volunteer as a coxswain and troll a plug while I'm at it.   :smt044  How much more lame can the situation get for California anglers and yakers?

  :smt013

Well, Compa is 100% correct! :smt012 I just called and spoke to the ranger for Lexington. She said "No end in sight"  and "NO personal boats" are allowed on Lexington.  Due to the mussel BS. There are no plans for inspections either.  Anderson, Calero, Coyote and Stevens creek (Non motorized only at SCR) are the only 4 county lakes we can legally  be on.  The rowing club has an "Exception"   :smt013  The ranger mentioned she was a kayaker and it affected her as well as she can't kayak the lake as well.

  So, were screw'd again!

You wanna talk about a negative spiral to the budget deficit...  Let's look at SCR...

People will be discouraged to launch boats due to increased mussel inspection fees on top of already "high" entry and launch fees.  On top of that, there will be less boat-based anglers attempting to fish b/c of no trout stocking.  Further, urban anglers will be less inclined to buy a license at all given the above.  All the while, the county has hired two inspectors (not one, TWO) who work simultaneous shifts to inspect the diminished boat traffic that actually goes through SCR still, if any boat traffic at all.  Why two inspectors?  One checks for mud, the other for water? One is trained to inspect for zebras, the other for quaggas?  I don't know!! :smt013

I wonder if the Rowing Club is looking for added membership and would be willing to allow someone to stash a couple kayaks in their boathouse.   :smt002

:smt012   And Loch Lomond is preventing any boats other than their rental fleet on the lake for this season (There is a meeting Mar 10th to discuss this I think) So, no kayaking on Loch lomond, No trout stocking,(For 2 yrs Due to some DFG lawsuit) I wasn't to impressed with SCR, so I'm not to upset about that lake, but Loch lomond?  Thats my backyard!  that sucks!
Where / when is all this crap gonna end? :smt013
Oh and as for the lake level?  Who gives a ratz ass now?  We can't use it so why bother. I won't be posting any more lake level updates!
