was just curious if there is real interest.
the forum has grown and im sure that there must be a few more that ride the Kaos, Hula, Strike, Yakboard, ect, or even the mini-X on waves.
So far the only ones to show up and ride with KW, moto, and myself have been ssgbart/crew and otobepelagic.
projects are nearing completion and injuries are hopefully healing so its almost time to get back out there.
If there is interest ill post hook-ups if not we will still post pics in hopes to inspire.

Terry, Are you suggesting another surf outing? I'd be up for a little more practice but this time I will include a snorkel to go with the helmet. Keep us posted.

I am in for that. My new caper might be the short boat ticket. Caspar is good diving also. Nice campground too. Allen will be shooting video in a whiteout. :smt003

I have a WS Kaos loved surfing on it. I have out grown the weight limit for the kaos so it just hangs in the garage.

I'm down for some surfing, it's just the logistics that give me trouble.
My surf ride is a plastic wave witch (yeah, the one with the naked girl on the side of it)
I haven't had out out since the Martin fire road trip to SoCal. Bonked my noggin good in some Santa Claus Lane soup.
It was fun though  :smt003

part of my inspiration is that I have a Kaos that has yet to leave the garage. sinner
im sure that boat still fits, paddle harder.

the more boats the better and vote yes on leg straps.
the caper will be great. even the big fishing yaks can be fun in waves when striped down.
many memorable rides on the malibu2 and team mini-x will rediscover how cool that little boat really is.

A few years ago I thought the Kaos was the best sot surfing kayak on the market.  I surfed one a lot at Caspar.  Things may have changed, but the Kaos is set up like a sot surfboard.  I worked for a kayak shop in Ft Bragg and got to surf all the sots, fairly extensively.

Anyway, I'm down for surfing with you guys at Caspar.  It's a great yak-surfing spot if the swell is big.  If not, we can head to Big River, which is right down the road.

I'm looking to buy a used Kaos if anyone's got one.

Dave

What's up Terry?

I had a change in work hours, so I haven't checked the board here lately.  I am now working m-f so, a trip to Doran etc. on a weekend could work out (depending on the WAF).  With enough notice, I may be able to do a shift trade to get a day off in the middle of the week.  My wife will be out of town on the 21st of Mar.  Barring any class 5 storms, I'll be wanting to do something on the yak. I've got a couple of people here at work that would go, if we go somewhere tame and close.

Greg

P.S.  I picked up a Frenzy since we were out last.

Wave ski porn

all wave ski movies from Youtube. the last one is really good. is tarted wave skiing in the early 80's but changed over to surfing pretty quick.MacSki, who make south african fishingski's, started their business making waveskis. they make both molded models, and custom epoxies, much like a surfboard, i worked in a glassing factory which glassed some of their custom boards. Standard setup is a tri fin, and lap straps are used to stay in the saddle when eskimo rolling thro big waves. Seems the sport is much bigger in south africa , Oz and France...
