Due to back issues I have been thinking a trailer would be a nice thing to have to avoid the on/off of the top of the car thing. Any pros/cons of a trailer? Best/worst brands? Best prices?

if he decides 'no' -- i'm looking for a trailer as well... our family can't manage to fit all our toys and the dog, wife, kid, au pair in the car (barely even in two cars!), so we're looking for a trailer now

The worst part of any trailer, IMHO, is having to stay in the right lane, max speed of 55 mph.

Well, I have shamelessly posted my trailer on here many times, but I do so as show a Great Design,

Not only is it a great for easy on and off, it has also made storage at home easier too..

I'm sure if ya get a basic trailer and ask around here, you could modify it to your needs....

It has been a life saver on family outings and taking 5 NCKA'ers to San Diego in total comfort....

SWEET TRAILER :smt004

I must admit, if I was to lust after another man's trailer it would be Danglin's...  :smt004

Dangin's awesome trailer won't really help Sc X Factor though if it is because of problems with his back. He would need something as low to the ground as possible to minimize lifting is my guess.....

Looking for low to the ground for an easy on/off as well as being able to back it down a launch ramp and possibly into the water. Was hoping for some feedback as to the good or bad side of trailers in general. The not too fast deal down the highway is one I did not think about.

Pros= Easy loading and unloading even in the worst conditions... And additional storage.
Cons= Shitty parking @ Stillwater Cove, worrieing about A tire blowout,55 mph speed limit! ( although I usally do about 70. :smt009

Harbor Freight has some cheap trailers that look fairly simple to pimp out. With a jacked up back it may make sense to load the yak on the first floor and then have some storage bins on the 2nd floor. I have no clue as to the quality of their trailers. Just saw them in the catalog.

Something like this maybe,

found it on KayakFishing stuff.com,  I think vwtech and Big-J have single kayak trailers that are close to this design...

Maybe PM them and find out what they like or dislike about these trailers

This is the trailer i've been lusting after...you did post the plans didn't you?
We've got all sorts of attachments, bike, kayak, board, etc so a sorts rack compatible bar is critical....

I bought an 8' truck bed trailer w/toolbox and lumber rack. I found it on craigslist and talked the guy down to 600. I have begun the pimpin with a rollon bedliner (not as good as I expected) and now I keep flip flopping on what to do next.
