I must admit, if I was to lust after another man's trailer it would be Danglin's...  :smt004

Just think of that lucky trailer hitch!

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

won't really help Sc X Factor though if it is because of problems with his back. He would need something as low to the ground as possible to minimize lifting is my guess.....

This would be true of the top rack, but on the bottom rack, all that needs to be done is lift the bow portion onto the 1st set of saddle racks, go to the stern, lift and load it right up, it slides thru very easy...

I have back/neck/shoulder/brain issues all the time, and again, the trailer has been a life saver...

Mine is used as my kayak storage as well. Makes it easy to roll out of the shop when I need the room to work on something.
I rarely use it to haul my kayak for fishing because of the 55 mph rule. And yea, I have been popped with a different kayak trailer for going over.
If you have a truck you can also make an extender for your trailer hitch to carry your kayak.

I don't think you could go wrong with a trailer, not only does it save space in the vehicle for more passangers it also lets you keep your yaks and gear ready at all times. Only negative would be if you didn't have a place to park it
This is what a friend built for me and it cost less than you would think.

per Tote. Here is what I use. It's great. I covered the to bar with some old carpet. The Yak slides of my rolling rack in the garage and is a simple lift of the bow when I am water side. And it only costs $100 (at Cabelas) and I can drive over 55 MPH.

Better if you can build your own. The one from Cabelas comes straight out of the receiver. The one I made came out about a foot, then went up, then extended back.
The reason this matters is that it gives you more clearance at the final end. Otherwise going up or down a little curb you almost always scrape it on the ground.

Hey Danglin, What do you use the White basket crate on the back for? I'm guessing a Cooler? or maybe wet gear?
Did I mention that trailer is SWEET :smt007

I do have a truck and had not considered the extend a truck as an option. It looks like that is a one yak option. The parking and driving speed seem to be the biggest drawbacks to the trailer option. Any other drawbacks to the trailer idea?

Danglin you my friend get my vote for the best trailer I've ever seen. The storage of gear below seems limitless along with having capability to carry the 4 yaks upright. I want to praise you on an excellent job.

I do have the "extend a bed" mentioned above.  It works great, I've hauled my P13 & Caper up & down highway 80 with no problems.  It was used in my Tundra..  I sold the truck so I'd be willing to let the extender go fo $50.00.  http://www.extendatruck.com/

I'm currently thinking how to rig my Home Depot trailer (snowbearer) & the above pictures are great..  I do guestion the liscence plate on the mentioned trailer as being to low to the ground..
