V-Day

Fishin Jay's Hookup post for DV this saturday made me think.  Anyone know how to effectively incorporate fishing into Valentine's Day w/o securing the demise of the relationship?

Hmmm Tricky. You can always go with I am gonna go catch a fresh trout dinner. But that usually doesn't fly. I think the more effective move is an all day spa treatment for one. And while she is distracted you go fish!

Makes for an expensive trip but I can't Imagine you'd get much push back.

Or you could always invite her to A romantic shore lunch. And bring along the yaks just in case.

Tell her you couldnt afford Italy.  Get a big hat.  Get a tandem kayak.  Put the lady in front.  Get an Andre Bocelli CD play it while paddling her around.  Tell her to close her eyes and imagine Venice.  While her eyes are closed cast behind you and commence trolling.  If this works, let me borrow the tandem yak

  That wouldn't work on my wife, woman has better hearing than an owl!  She'd hear and recognise the sound of the bail closing on the reel then the gig would be up!

Just a heads-up Scott. This will be the busiest wknd on the Monterey peninsula. The ATT golf tourney at Pebble, V-day, and Pres Wknd all wrapped up in one cluster-f.
I'm actually getting the heck outta dodge or I'd try to invite myself to join you for some fishing in Carmel. Especially considering the Carmel river might finally breach to the ocean this wknd. If so, it w/b a good time to throw plugs for surf stripers....hinthint.
