Nothing, they are just giving me samples for us to use to see if it gets you hooked enough to start buying their product. I will have their version of gatoraid that you mix in water and probably some of the gel packs for us to take on the water.

Right on!  Any chance of getting someone like, say, Hobie or OK to sponsor?!   :smt003

I am working on some giveaway items for the event and need some ideas for events:

 1) first legal ling?

 2) biggest ling of the day?

  give me some ideas.

Cool, Greg.  I don't think first legal ling will work too well since we'll be spread out pretty far, but I like where you're going.  We'll likely already have a prize for biggest ling because we're having a MBF tournee - that's "Money Between Friends".  Now, if you were able to come up with a major prize like a new yak we could talk about changing the format dramatically, but smaller prizes could just fit into the MBF format.  We have between now and then to create the format, so let's have open discussion about it here and see what materializes.

I have some freebies that I'm giving out to a limited number of participants.  I haven't determined the number yet, and I have not limited myself on the giveaway yet.  I wanted to make it a surprise, but maybe it's best to show my hand now so we can better assemble the format of our Extravaganza ~ :smt004

I'll have these items for most or all of our crew (I hope):

- Hawg Trough Extension and a connector;
- Laminated Cove map with soundings within about 2 miles of the launch.

I know some others have some things in mind too, and, like I said, the format of the whole gig still needs to be determined.  I just know it'll be a blast!   :smt001

Even just having to come up with the idea of a hog trough extention just tells me you are the north coast king Abking.  Great idea!

I would be more than happy to donate some of my homemade lures and weights as prizes.  I have a wood lathe and can turn out some fish knockers for prizes.  Maybe with GMS III wood burned or chip carved in the side?  I will see what else I can come up with.

This is going to be a blast!

Love the shell collection Abking.  Do you polish them on the outside of the shell?

Cool, Matt - thanks for offering up some of your work.  I think some custom fish bonkers would be totally cool for prizes or freebies (up to you), but you shouldn't feel shy about offering up your tackle for sale.  We all know how much you've been putting in to that.

As for the shells.  I let them dry a long time in the sun and do my best to remove all the extra organic matter with water and a little enouragement if necessary from a wire brush (always wet), then I dip them in dilluted muriatic acid which brings the red out nicely.  Finally I apply some liquid plastic spray or lacquer.  That wall's been up for years and they are fading a bit but generally doing well since they're out of the sun 95% of the time.  35 tens by your hot tub makes the jets feel better.   :smt004

35 Tens  :smt007!  Wow, I have yet to get a 10, most mine run 8 1/2 to 9.   I have some muratic acid I use for removing galvanizing for welding at home.  I will try it on the Ab shells, thanks!

I will start making some sawdust soon!  I will see how many knockers I can turn out.  I will make a few freebies, and mark a few for prizes.  I will put some bags of lures together as well.  I will probably sell a few as well, at least to cover more lure supplies :smt001

For awards, I liked the idea of the most variety of fish.  Maybe a set bag; Four set species that have to be caught to win?  Largest of course;maybe largest Ling, Cab, Halibut?  Maybe a dead ass last for the smallest or fewest?  Always good for a laugh  :smt003
