Just curious how many different rigs you folks will end up using over the course of AOTY.  I'm guessing a lot of reels see double duty, but rods not so much.

you're asking for aoty?
i'm guessing 4 (a sturgie/rockfish, a striper/bass rod, my trout rod, hallie/livebait rod)

if you are asking in general....
ummm....including flyrods?  13....ugh, that's an ugly number-- better buy another.

my wife already knows there are more combos than she can keep track of so it is much easier to add a new one undetected payed for with cash of course :smt003

The absolute worst thing that can happen is your wife/gf getting mad at you and selling your rods for what you told her you paid for them.

I have far too many myself. Steelhead rods alone amount to 10. Then there are ocean rods of various ratings that total 15. Six river salmon rods, Five bass rods, four trout rods, two surf rods,a poke pole and I'm still seriously contemplating more. I'm sick I tell ya'.

One good thing is if anyone comes to visit and wants to fish, they don't have to bring any gear.
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!

The answer is: More! I'm not in the AOTY, not for lack of desire tho. . . getting the time OTW, funds, etc. dictate other "priorities" -  :smt010 so, that being said,  snivelin' aside, I use three to fours reels and six or so rods, I mean poles. I mostly do saltwater from the rocks, the kayak and the piers, as often as I can, I love saltwater. I get to the river 6 or so times a year, the lake a few more for kitties and stripers. Have not done much LM or SM bassin' for a number of years now.

Poles:
Ugly,
Trevala
Lami
Rhino

Winders:
Shimano
Mitchell
Olympic
Penn

Yep, I have a lot of OLD reels passed down from my grandfather and still use them - I will update as I can, but I enjoy thinking about him when I use them.  :smt007

For side drifting I like my 1141S IMX w/ a 2500 Stradic. For spoons I think the 1084C is my favorite and I have a Curado that works but I'm switching over to a Abu Revo. For floats in big water I use a Lami 106 MLC or a X10MS in smaller water.

I have others that I will throw out there for spinners or the old pink worm. Thus far my Steelie total is zero. Any time I've had off work the Smith was either too low or blown out. I'm probably going to have to take my chance on the Russian if there is any rain.

For AOTY purposes, I will probably use 10-12 different rods. But I've got 31....er, ummm, 32 rods in the garage. Pics to come.
