I just wanted to extend an WTG to those who finished in the top 10 for 2008 including our leader SBD and a hell of a showing from two NCKA rookies "no more" Allen and Patrick.  I look forward to an even stiffer competition in 2009.

Thanks Guys!  By the time I got out of MLPA purgatory I was in a big hole.  As it turned out though being locked in a conference room full of the best captains in Norcal for a few zillion hours did have its dividends.  :secret :secret  I owe a special thanks to Master Eddy for sharing his long-earned secrects for finding big flattys...flat bastard made my season.

The Leppins were two of the fiercest (yet nicest :angel4:) "blind squirrels" I have ever encountered...they were truly impressive in 08.  Were all going to have to dig deep in 09 to keep these guys from burrying us.

Finally I owe a huge super-duper thanks to my awesome wife Leah.  I don't know any other married father of 3 that gets to play in baja for a month, ride on the Islander, host two tournaments, guide clients and then fish another zillion freelance days just for fun.  Leah you RULE and are without question winner of WOTY!!!

Nope...however I got my Trident 15 in May.  I have never reset the GPS.  It currently has 200 hours and 230 miles on it.

She doesn't get the Hobie, but I do have my good friend Shimmy working on a little something to express my love and appreciation.  If diamonds really are a girls best friend, Leah's gonna have about 45 new BFFs.

Hmmm ... Shimmy ... WAF preserver extraordinaire?  May have to give you a call and put in some preventative maintenance for 2009.  I can see it now, the NCKA WAF line of jewelry.

Sean, Congratulations! Once you caught the monster halibut I knew it was going to be tough. 170.3+ per fish average.....unbelievable!

HOLY TOLEDO, We fished as a team yet competed with each other side by side all year! Congratulations.

Thank Everyone for sharing their fishing techniques and secret locations.....we couldn't have done it without your input!

All you guys rock! Now you have inspired me to become a better, more informed and learned kayak fisherman. Thanks to you all for the post and the tutoring. When is the awards ceremony? This I just can't miss. Craig

Sean - you have set the bar very high - what an admirable accomplishment, and I saw such a level-headed pace to your work.  You're smart to give Leah big credit.  Great job.   :smt045

Great competition, excellent cast of characters.  I was lucky to get to hang out with many of the leaders late in the game and was always impressed and pleased to observe such generosity, good humor and a brand of sportsmanship that makes you proud.  Well done, Friends.  Looking forward to more Good Times on the '09 AOTY trail.

Man Sean, you set the new mark of greatness this year @ 1700 pts! A friggin 170pt per fish AVG?! That's akin to hitting .400 in the majors. A mark that surely will not be approached without great reverence for the game (AOTY) and its record holder (SBD!).

Also a big congrats to the Top 10. And great last-minute push by Bungle and FisHunter to jump ahead of Mooch into the 10.
