So last night I get settled into bed at 10pm with my fiance and my 2 year old son. Our bedroom door was open and my sons was shut. We wake up about 7 am and I notice his bedroom door was open. Strange, I go wake him up and take our dog out front to go pee. Front door unlocked and our security door open. I come back in and Meghan noticed her duffle bag with her toiletries is gone. I tell her she left it in her car, we have a little argument about where it is and then she notices all our presents under the tree are gone, we start freaking and then she notices her purse is gone, and her car keys to her 2007 Scion TC were in it. I run outside and her car is gone! We call the police and while we are waiting we start noticing what else was missing. My case of over 200 dvds, my brand new cordless drill for work, all my brand new clothes I got for Christmas from my fiances parents which were folded on the couch. A ton of Nintendo Wii games I had on my computer desk. Meghan had her brand new digital camera she got from her parents in her brand new purse. A bunch of gifts were in her car including tons of sentimental items. We were totally violated when WE were home. What makes me the most sick is that they OPENED MY SONS DOOR when he was sound asleep. I am glad none of us were attacked or harmed. I am in the process of moving out right now. They didnt touch my car, car keys, wallet or my computer. They were very selective and very quiet, and I am a light sleeper. The car was a Baby Blue Scion TC with a large dent in the drivers door. I do not have the liscence plate with me at this time but I will be posting it up soon. What a good way to ruin your christmas. I wasnt even able to give my son his gift for christmas because someone thought they were entitled to it to more than him. My fiance had a ton of cash, 5 credit card, her social security card and checkbook. We put holds on all the cards but we ar woried about her social and her credit now. I am still sick to my stomach. I guess thats why I am awake at 12:30 am.
Jeff

Oh boy. Sorry man. There are some really unpleasant people in the world. I hope you and your family can salvage some christmas and your lives are not too diverted by the actions of these people.

OMG!!!
How scary and how pissed I would be. I feel for you all.
No one should have to go through that.
Where do you live if I may ask?
At least no one was harmed. Maybe it is better you all slept through it.  :smt013

It happened in Modesto. On Granger Ave. I have a dog, a Boston Terrier that was in bed with us. She didn't even move. Time to upgrade

What incredible scumbags... and brazen too.  Makes me sick to my stomach just hearing about it.

Glad all they got were "things" and all of you are OK.

Sorry for you losses Jeff glad no one was hurt and you still have each other.
With the tough economic times ahead of us we are going to see a lot more scumbags coming out of the woodwork, time to batten down the hatches.

Jeff, that's horrible man.  I can't believe people would do that on Christmas!

Hopefully they find the person who did it.  I will keep an eye out in the area for anyone peddling something like what you've lost - but as you know pretty slim chances.

Jeff, as for the credit, you should call the three credit reporting agencies for your fiancee and ask for them to freeze her credit report.  this will prevent anyone from applying for credit in her name unless they have a pin.

the names of the agencies are equifax, experian and transunion.  I unfortunately don't have the time to detail that process now, but you can google it.

Whats important is that you or your family were not harmed, everything else can be replaced. It still sucks being violated like that, and my thoughts are with you and your family. I have an extra drill and impact driver if you need to borrow them or any other tools feel free to pm me.
