That is awfully nice!  :smt007
The added benefit of a pistol that big is that if you get into trouble it serves double duty as a club!  :smt044

Acutally, you can get Federal Fusion 200 gr cartridges for $20 a box... buck a bullet.

The Barnes Triple Shock (copper), Nosler Partition, etc. are all $40 per box or more... no thanks.

Don't know where Circle S is but keep in mind new ammo regs in condor range , Southern CA . Personally not sure or concerned as I never hunt down there , no lead at all for big game including the Partition , Fusion or any of the other copper with a fused lead center . Barnes has some pure copper bullets for reloaders , not sure if any factory loads though ?

EK,

$40 for a box of bullets or cartridges? I ask, as I see that TSX and TTSX bullets run about $45 for a box of 50. Nosler E-tips are $10 less. Be aware that you can't (legally) hunt with Federal Fusion bullets in the lead free zones.

Anyway, looks like you've got the big brother to my old .30 Herrett Contender. Have fun :)

That IS a very pretty firearm.
What's a TC Encore set a man back?
I've looked at them in the mags with curiosity...
Single-shot is good.  I'm a blackpowder muzzleloader type.

Are you going to load for it?   (I'm a reloader)

I would think that with the short bbl you'd want to use different powder than in a rifle, and I would think that with short-loads of faster-burning powder, you'd want to "case fill" above the powder with a material like ferina to assure shot-for-shot uniform powder ignition/pressure-curve-development.

You light that sucker off......it's going to whack you pretty good.
I'm not sure I personally would want to hand-hold that much power.
Please come back to the board with a report how that (recoil) goes.
Look forward to hearing from u.

Judd

PS.....if someone at the range has their chronometer out......walk over and ask 'em if they'll give you a shot.   Most will, and what you find out will be important stuff.   When I want a muzzle velocity I offer the guy a $10....and they never take it.

I've fired a lone eagle in 30-06.  The scope can really take a beating on guns like these, and so does the shooter.  Hope you got the detachable stock for sighting it in.  ;)

10-4 on the lead free zones... I won't be going there so no worries.

If I have the chance, I'll get some video footage tomorrow... might be entertaining.

This cartridge is a .308 casing necked up to accept a larger .338 caliber bullet.

No Judd... I don't reload... maybe a future hobby.

Scott... I was referring to cartridge prices.
