A couple more shots...

Strong work folks, looks like everyone had a good time in the weather window. Only a few more weekends left! What will we do! Have a rockfish decompression party like the Burning Man folks?

Dave! whats the story there!?

Dave/Relentless if you don't post soon, I'll assume you were snagged and you won't be able to convince me otherwise!

POST-UP Dave, I'm hanging on the edge here: I skipped work; I have not eaten in days; and I am checking in every 5 minutes,...

OK that's not right!   :smt012 Your implying he hooked a killer whale.
Someone PM Dave and let him know there are several of us being teased....by both Ben and Adam.  It's has only been a two day tease, but it feels like a week or two given the number of times I've checked this thread for an answer.

I hope it's HAPPY ENDINGS.   :smt003

Dolphins.  A pod that stretched out probably 200 yards, sized from as big as our yaks and down to babies...  With little harbor seals mixed in, flying in formation moving north.

Later on we saw a few come into the "bay", right up near the beach.

That is a great sunset picture!  I suspect not more than an minute or so from actual setting, and the elusive "green Flash"

Eric...quit holding out on the pics! :smt011

...and they came Real_Close a few times, one actually came up for air, getting air, about 5ft. next to me!  cool&scary!

Well....we got to the launch after 8am and a crew was heading out from the north launch.....Find that fish was on it early.
I went BIG with a custom Kalins 10"grub and got SKUNKED for the 1st. time at Bean....but it was ok, the drift was fast from the south winds, but still in the doable range.
I pulled the plug around noonish and headed to the barn for sammys and a FULL beach patrol&pick-up.
We started at the south end, worked our way to the north reef. Even though the Bean was not good to me this day, but followed through with the plan and was paid in FULL the following day.

Russ/Yakattack showed up afternoonsih and joined Dave/ Relentless on his second trip. I do believe they hook'd some too.

After discovering we were not allowed to car camp off the highway. We headed to Butano Camp for the nite. We got lucky by sercuring the last site available, bad news was that the driveway to it was at a unfriendly sleeping angle and only 3 out of the 6 could park there....leaving us to scamble for a legit&level area.
Camp was as fun as a barrel of monkeys!! The site was kinda secluded from the view of others. Hidden beneath the Redwoods, relaxing ,eating and plain ol' kickin the shit with eachother.

I was out on Friday morning also and launched just after Eric (around 0830).

I fished south also, it was very slow.  I forgot the battery to my finder and that didn't help a bit. I got a bit around 0900, but I think it was a school of mackerel.  At 0930 I caught a small, legal cabazeon.  At about 1030 four of the guys headed north, I followed along and fished inside.  I fished up to the "big rock" but did not get any bites.  I used everything in the box and bait (sardine).  I was inside the other guys by a couple of hundred yards or so.  At 1300 I decided to, "take my spanking and go home."  I was pleased to hear that everyone else did so well on the outside.  It is interesting that such a small difference in location made such a big difference in the fishing (assuming that I wasn't totally blowing it with what I was using).

I was able to join everyone at the Bean on Sunday.  The weather was a little iffy, but the great fishing kept us going.

Launches and landings were uneventful.

Thanks to Fishhunter/Adam for putting us on the spots loaded with fish.  Sonar showed schoolie rockfish 20feet in depth off the bottom.  You could have caught those all day long, but most of us were focusing their efforts on the hardheads.  Only a few of the drifts did not yield hook ups.

I kept an 18in cabbie (everyone was catching them), bunch of blacks, 2 chinas, 16in sea trout.  Only lost one jig because my snap came opened.. doh.

Another one of those awesome camping hook-ups! Butano State Park is a great place to camp if you wanna fish anywhere between  Pigeon Point and Pescadero.

As far as fishing went, I caught and released a half a dozen Cabs, released smallish RF and kept one big black.
