This is my first post so I hope this works. I'm very new to kayaking and fired up with all the opportunities. My brother fished HMB with a coworker a week ago on their first ever kayak fishing trip. Here are couple of photo from that trip, and I hope the photos go through.
We will be out there on Saturday 9/27/08. I hope I run into you guys out there. This will be my first time fishing from a kayak. We've done some abalone diving and spear fishing but never took a rod out. I hope this will be the first of many fishing trips on a kayak.
A big, huge thanks to Mooch for telling me about this organization and the hookup on the wheels.

tight lines.

I may be able to hookup with Y'all. I am supposed to hit the Russian River with a buddy of mine, but this particular buddy has a massive "Flake-out" syndrome. If I can manage to get him to puss-out with a days notice, I will see you out @ HMB.
Never been there before other than to camp once when I was a kid. Had my surf-rod  stolen from the campsite which I later found in a ditch, along with a lot of other peoples junk- including a rubber chicken and a used port-a-potty. Still a bit freaked out about that.  Chad

I'd like to join you all, if you don't mind. I've never fished this location before. I'll see you at the launch, or if I'm late I'll catch up with you on ch. 69.

I'm definitely in; looks like our Newbie Navy will be assembling once again! Minus our Captain Kayak of course. Do we have confirmation from Admiral Yakattack?

Wind forecast has calmed considerably for Saturday.

it might be a little long walk from the parking area to the launching area but seems doable w/out a cart.  i am sure someone will help you carry your yak or lend you a cart.
see ya.

That is the angle I will try to take.
Does anyone know if there is a fee to park?

Just a tip for yalls going on Sat, bring a sabiki if you have one to make bait.  Also wouldnt hurt to buy a bag of frozen chovies.

I heard there are halibut around.. so you can also fish for halibut w/ multiple rods before catching any rockfish.

Lastly, Sept 27th is "free fishing day", fishing licenses are not required.  Good day to have your newbie friends come out and try fishing w/o the expense of single day licenses.

Hey fellas, it's a no go for me on Saturday. My commander in chief said
it is a family day. Sorry, I was really looking forward to going with the
newbie fleet again.

There is no parking fee. Wheels would be good but are not essential if you have company (or don't mind scratching up the bottom of your yak!).

Jedmo; will miss yer! I will try not to throw up in your honour.

I will have to wait another week before I can get my kayak in the water. The REI sales person says the 20% coupon is going out next week so I will wait and save a few bucks, $51 to be exact.

Good luck.

I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
