i will be at HMB around 7am for rockfishing on 9/27(sat).
company welcome!

i am not sure if this is an accessible area for public.
if this place doesn't work, then i will try the beach next to the harbor on the left where the kayak shop is located.

Yes, you can launch there. You'll need wheels to get from the lot to the beach tho'.

There isn't much parking at that second spot. There is a lot more at the first spot tho' you have to be there early (7am will be fine).

I might join you, I'll know later in the week.

I'll join in..  weather permitting.

I'll get some live bait if its still available.

We can also try to make bait somewhere.

Is this place 'first timer' friendly?

I would like to take my kayak out and test it out before I start adding fish rod holder, live well, etc.

Su,
you are welcome to join us.  it's pretty much a newbie friendly place.  launching and landing will be done inside the rock walls which protect the inside from swells and waves.

all,
the weather forecast wise, it doesn't look too bad so far:
SAT
NW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. MIXED SWELL NW 3 TO 6 FT AND S 2 FT. PATCHY FOG.
much like at stillwater cove last wkend.

i will be launching from here @ 7am:

i am not sure which launch area has easier access to water.  we will figure it out when we get there.

cheers.

a wet suit is preferred.  in case need to perform self-rescue, it would be harder to get back on kayak with a wader full of water.
come on down to HMB and join us.  it will be fun.

It's an oft debated topic (have a search through the archives) but I would definitely recommend a wetsuit. You can rent them from the HMB kayak company.

I'm so bummed out because I can't join you guys. I'll just look forward to your reports and hopefully join you next time.
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
