Friday 8/8 continuing my Ling Streak at the Bean

Those wash rocks up north were a blast to paddle thru...  But I don't think the shore fishermen appreciated me cutting thru there.  They were casting bobbers WAY out there.

Adam  Every time I hear the word Streak, it takes me back to the mid-seventies in high school with all the crazies streaking nude through the Quad at lunch wearing ski masks........Keep the "streak" alive!

ever launched from Pescadero Rock ?  Or......Any body ?

I've lauched out of pescadero way back when. Saw Ethan (from Alabama) catch a halibut within shore casting range. I caught a few underlings but never pulled anything to keep that day. I do remember finding structure was hard work compared to the Hollow.

Hmm..that sounds good...how long you think it will take to drift from Gregorio down to the Bean ? San Gregorio
is about seven miles north, isn't it ? my guess is about 3 to four hour trip. Should be nice to target whatever gets in our way. how is the launch at San Grego ?

Thanks for those great UW shots. Awesome as always.  Glad to see I am not the only one who uses a snap swivel to attach the jig. Most don't recommend but I personally have not had a failure.

I've had it pop open a few times...is that the problem?  there are some good quality ones out there ($$) that seem to address that.  Do most just tie it straight on?

Yeah you are supposed to tie it directly to the leader for 2 reasons:

1. The swivel can pop open particularly if it is inside of the mouth

2. The swivel changes the action of lure, particularly true on metal jigs and plugs. less so on big plastics which you were using.

The advantages are quicker lure changes and reduced line twist. I use the cross lock design and they are not too costly.
