I've got a boneheaded question I know - but where will most people be parking for this event?  Also, is parking in short supply or should it not be an issue at 5:30 AM.

Thanks for the help - I spend very little time in SC and have never fished the area.  That said, I'm totally looking forward to this event.

There should be sufficient parking in the lot attached to the boat launch.  The only thing is the office might not be open at 5AM, like they weren't last year.  Typically you go buy an all day parking pass from the Harbormaster, and with the peak of the season over, there's no telling when they'll open.

Can someone call/confirm what time we can begin obtaining day parking passes?

Thanks Martin for the info, will you be there?  If so, want to carpool?  If not, at the very least I can pick up your wheels for exchange, there has been some discussion here.

Hopefully A three pound rock cod wont win it!!! :smt044

definitely, am aiming at 3.1 pounds this time :smt003

going for the fleet!

you can pay to park in the lot, or park on the street if the weekend permit rules are done for the summer....

Best bet is to call kayak conetin for specifics.  Also, I believe Bayside marine has parking permits, in fact I'l call them and ask them to stock up.  Bayside is at the Hrbor, about 1/8 mile north of the launch ramp.  Best place for last minute gear and bait purchases.

Hi Yakers:

Worst case if you can't pick up a day pass at Bayside, I have put the Daly parking fee of $5.00 in a S.C. Harbor Envlope with a note and, put it in their mail box.. I also posted a note on my windshield that I payed at the office.

yup that will work!

Ernie:  Mark says everyone has to launch from the launch ramp. i'm sure it's OK to launch from the WS, and paddle over before 7am to the launch ramp to join in the "official" start.

I will not be able to make it. I'm a groomsman in my friend's wedding Sat afternoon...and for some reason....my wife thinks it is a bad idea to do both in 1 day. Sheesh....women!? Hahahahaha!
Good luck to all the NCKAers competing.

Hi Yakers:

Here is a link to a Map of the West Harbor. I'll be at Map flag 1,
