I just posted this on the other thread, but thought in all fairness, they should get some BOLD print

in response.....

OK....

I talk to a person named " Vern ", he seemed very concerned and said he would get back to me soon.

I was called 10 minutes later by the President of the company Peter Recih.

He was very concerned about this and had become aware of our " Blog " as of yesterday.

He explained to me that a while back, complaints were coming from the field about the expense of the carts and they were looking for a way to reduce cost, and there you have the PVC carts....

They soon realized that there was a problem with about 1000 carts in the field before they were able to switch back.

To make a long story longer,

He is very concerned about the bad wheels out there and wants to make this right.

All PVC wheels will be replaced but, the polyurethane wheels are more expensive and there will be a charge for the more expensive wheels. He does not know what that charge will be at the moment because everyone is in Salt Lake City for a show, but they will get on this one immediately.

The polyurethane wheels will fit where the PVC wheels fit no problem.

It's looks as though they are doing the right thing,

They are listening and watching....  :smt024

So, we should be able to get this worked out soon.  :smt006 ..... Danglin

Awesome work, thanks Danglin!

I feel for them being a small company catering to kayaks, this has to hurt them a bit...

But a defective product is a defective product.

Good to know things will be made right.  I for one don't mind a reasonable fee for the "upgrade".

Thank you Don. Greatly appreciate you taking the bull by the horns and getting a response. I paid full price for my first cart, I believe it was $189.00 and the second was on sale for $149.00. This should be handled as a recall. Wheeleez should send out replacement tires to all those who have the known defective wheels.

Don,
Thanks for taking the initiative and lead on this quality issue.  I recently sold a pair of brand new Wheeleez (PVC wheels) to another member.  I feel REALLY bad that he'd have to pay additional $, to bring the cart up to the expected performance level.  REALLY BAD!!!  That's why I'm posting!!!

Though I'm happy to hear that Wheeleez wants to "make things right", I'm concerned that Wheeleez wants customers to pay to "upgrade" back to the standard poly wheels.  They were the ones who changed to inferior wheels on  ~1,000 carts.  They need to step up and REPLACE the defective wheels (FREE of CHARGE), not make customer's PAY for wheels that they initially THOUGHT they were getting.

I may be wrong, but the Part number (WZ1-KCB) is the same for both the PVC wheels and the polyurethane wheels.  Smells like they did a bait and switch to save a few bucks and now they want to get bailed out.  C'mon this isn't the mortgage industry.......

I hear what your saying, and I'm not sure what these carts (PVC ) cost by buying them at retail stores,

but those that bought on the " Group Buy " did get a discounted price $127.03.

If the price of the PVC wheel carts are the same as the polyurethane carts, then I see your point.

Again, they (Wheeleez ) are watching these threads and your concerns are being heard.

Probably won't get this ironed out till next week....

Don,
Thanks again man!!!

I also sympathize for the people who paid full price for the PVC wheeled carts.  Based on the other thread, its was a crap shoot on what you rec'd.  Some folks got lucky, while other's didn't.  According to the other thread, both REI and Hook 1 sold the "bad" pvc carts.

BTW, REI's 100% satisfaction policy is sure nice.  They will take back the pvc carts, even after its used.  Or, I'm sure they'd let a customer exchange the pvc cart for the poly cart, assuming REI has the poly cart in stock.

C'mon Wheeleez..........Do the right thing.

Many past and *potential* future customers are watching and waiting too....

Stuart

I agree with Stu on this on this one.  It is not like they lowered the price of carts when they moved from the old style wheels, just their costs.  I'm all for a company increasing margins if they can maintain quality, but this is definitely not the case.  Feels like another bailout to me...

Don, thanks for taking time out to call Wheeleze on my/our behalf!  I owe you a beer!

OK....

This is kind of customer service that will help companies get future business.. 10 fold  especially with as large as a community we have here. Word of mouth is the best advertisement that a business can get.

My concern and  I agree with the comments above about paying more for new wheels. Whats the point of getting a group discount if we as a whole get a defective products and have to shell out more money for a product that we thought we were getting in the first place. I have two cart and having to pay more would defeat the purpose of buying the carts. The main reason I bought two was because I was getting the benefit of the discount. If the new price that I have to pay to replace these is close to the original price I might of thought twice before buying them or at least two of them.
I appreciate  your effort Don to correct the problem.Hopefully we get this worked out. Thanks

I didn't get any type of group or other discount, but I'll be happy to get rid of those wheels. Thanks for rattling the right cages.

The real story...they knew the other wheels sucked.  So they bypassed their dealers and liquidated them by offering up discounts through "group buys" like the one that happened here.  Now they realize you guys are pissed and calling them on their shady junk.  So "to make it right" you're going to pay more.  In the end if you take the price you paid, plus the "upgrade" you could have bought the real deal in the first place.  Better than getting stuck with the crappy wheels, but not exactly great practice.

Thanks for saving me some leg work Don. They have both wheels on their site looks like the Poly wheels are $26 more than the PVC wheels. Hope they make the exchage easy I would hate to pay for Shipping. Maybe send some to local dealers along with patch kits so we don't have to go to Bencia.
