Took me a long time to work this one out with my wife and others involved.  Our annual campout at Bear Harbor (just south of Shelter Cove) will be 7/31 to 8/3.  We'll get the early minus tides for big ab hunting and plenty of yak-fishing, launching from camp at the Harbor.  This place is very special - remote, beautiful, wild, yet only 1.5 hours from 101, with a $hit-house, clean water, and rough, wheel-barrow-in creek/beach camping only a .4 mile easy trail from the trucks.  Anyone interested in hooking up feel free to get in touch.   :smt001

Ah man, sorry I can't make it. Everything seems to be happening that wknd! Elk, my wedding anniversary, and my best friend's bachelor party in Tahoe! Dangit! Funny thing is that I was invited to the Cove that wknd too, as a friend will be there celebrating his Bday and my parents will be there during that time. Double-dang!

Hey Eric,

I may be able to come up, at least for a day or two.  We should be getting back from our family road trip on the 28th.  Let me check with they Family Manager (wife) and I'll let you know.  Are there more camp sites available for those days you think?

Damn, I'll be heading to a family reunion in North Carolina that weekend.  Sounds like a killer trip though, enjoy!

Haha, good question. I was on the wait list for Elk, and got permission from my lovely wife to go (even though its our Anniversary wknd). But then, in the meantime, a friend decided to have his bachelor party [fat house in south shore] that wknd so I transfered my WAF to that that acct (thinking I wouldn't get into Elk)....providing, of course, I treat my wife to the royal treatment during the entire week OF our Anniversary. And then I get an email from Sean asking if I wanted to do Elk! Ahhhh! I need a clone! Or a time machine. Or both.

Don't fret, AK. I will make a road trip up there to show you how to catch cabezon this summer. I'll be visiting my parents in the Cove for sure. They'll be there from now til mid August. But this Bear Harbor place sounds pretty cool.
Apologies for the thread-jack!

Norm

No guarantees on camp sites there, Norm, but it's usually not a problem, and you're welcome to crash our site if need be.  Hope you can make it!   :smt001

No worries, PK.  Keep in touch about when you're up this way.   :smt001  Oh yeah - can't wait to go through your cab-catching clinic - I'll bring the beer!   :smt005 :smt002
