Adam was at my house at 0400hrs. where he woke me from my first nap of the day. Everything loaded we were off by 0430hrs. Contacted Mike (solsrf1) via cell and Mike was enroute via hwy1 Joe was with him and they were going to stop and get some squid.
Arrived at StillwaterP1010077 at approx. 0730 after a couple of detours and Adam repeadedly saying are we there yet?
Meet up with Mike (solsfr1) and Joe (bloodbath)P1010076 who got in the water before I did due to no one knowing the boundries and assuming that, I thought you knewism". So after a couple of phone calls ( Thanks Allen and Freddie) off I went with the glee of a new territory to Kayak and fish.
As suggested I fished the kelp beds on the way out and immediately got into the fish. Nothing of any real size I followed the kelp towards around the island and paddeled to the north pt.(pescadero) to meet up with the rest of the crew.
I first hookup with Adam (fishcatcher) who was into some fish. I kept to the plan and kept working the kelp and heading towards the pt. I did have to hook up to the kelp to fish the holes due to the wind coming up around 0830 or 0900 once near the pt. I was going to go around pescadero with Mike but as we paddled the stronger the wind and Mike talked me out of proceeding.
Mike,Joe and the fishcater all hooked into these nice fish (didn't get a picture of Adams)P1010078  P1010079which heighten my hopes of landing a AOYT fish.
Agiain I fished the kelp and started to land more quality fishP1010080 of which I kept three.
Finally I found myself at the first proturding rock where the water went from approx. 40' to 90'. I rerigged and drifted this spot for the rest of the day having some great hits which I kept missing. The most interesting thing that happened was the fill and sound of bait fish running into my Kayak (litterally) then the sight of large mystery white streaks chasing them under my Kayak (ghosties?). It happened within a 30 sec window and they where gone. The bait fish where so frantic I thought I might get a lap dance of the smaller varity "al a" Bill :smt044.
I caught alot of fish (well over limit if kept) but at the end of the day I only kept the following. P1010081P1010082P1010083
Will let the others post their stories. Yes guys there it is and thanks for the phone calls and pm's. Oh yeah the pinnicales are no longer accessible do to new boundry limits.
This area is just worth the paddle if anyone would want to do just that and collect honey pts. :smt008

Way to go, guys.  Glad to hear that Joe did better at SW than we did at Coral St!  :smt004  I was gonna head out tomorrow, but pulled my calf muscle really good today during a karate seminar.  Not good, since I'm a Hobie peddler, not a paddler.  Dammit.  :smt009

Some of those mystery white streaks after your fish were probably sea lions that hang out there, they can really move underwater.  Some might have been small sharks like the ones I've caught out away from the kelp - never caught one in the kelp tho.  Glad you had a good time.
The boundaries at that end of the bay are pretty easy to avoid- one corner goes in real close to the rocks at the Tower House, then runs due west, while the shore is runs more northwest, so as you paddle out further, you have more legal room.

Thanks for taking me UncleFrank! It was a pleasure riding and talking with you.
Nice to hookup with fellow NCKA family...Mike and Joe, Thanks for the squid!
I should have followed you guys around, instead of MAKINGmyOWNpath(waiting for Frank :smt044)
I had always wanted to go there, seeing the pics of calm-kelpy water was too nice....and that's EXACTLY what it WAS! :smt007
Now I can say "Been There/Done That!"   We had the place to ourselves and the fog stayed in the right place for the whole day, making for a low-wind outing. It picked up a bit in the afternoon, but layed down round 2pm.
I don't know how to fish weed-choked lakes and fishing this kelp is TOUGH&FRUSTRATING too!  Frank said it's called POTHOLE'n, which sounded kinda cool, if it would have put a BIG-FISH on MY line....but after a few hours of Snag'nPull, I began to refer to it as "BoonDoggling"  :smt013

Da pics....

I never really went past the first boiler, thinking or SinCoast and shallow Lings I stuck around the outsides of the kelp for a nice Brownie? and then went shallow along the north cliff side for legit-Cabbie on a wht-scampie.

~ Frank outside looking for some structure!

I wished ALL or ONE of you locals would have held my/our paddle and took us straight out to the promised reef! :smt005

That is not outside.  Outside is beyond that rock.  I usually do not even stop until I am past that rock.  Next time give me a little more leeway than Friday morning allows and I bring some local knowledge.

Yeah, I don't even stop paddling til I've gone way out around the north point and past the pink house (Can'tMissIt). THEN I start fishing. I save the inside of the cove for "when the wind turns on in the afternoon."
Wish I could've joined you guys. Hoping to get back out there Sunday though..... :smt002

Same here.  Used to do the paddle out to the Pinnacles but now I spend that effort moving further north.  I save the inner cove for last, hoping for a nice cabbie (as recommended by Seabreeze).  :smt004
