Well no WSB but a good number of Dabs and Mac's for a feast this weekend with the family. Will be hooking up with Mike and Bill ? in the morning then we'll decide which direction to go in.
Monterey Bay was like a lake in the morning with the wind not becoming a problem until 1430 hrs. Then it was right in my face all the way in from the yellow bouy at about 15 mph. The MBK folks were busy monitoring their rentals a couple of their renters really struggle against the wind just outside the harbor.
No pics for now will post more later.
Monterey has a nice camp ground called the Veterans Memorial Camp site which has showers and a great park for the kids. Little pricey at $20 a night but i'm just a few minuets from downtown. Frank

Couldn't ask for more beautiful conditons. As soon as I clear the launch I dropped my sabiki and came up with a lizard fish.

Stringer full of Sanddabs. Ended up with 17 which were served to the family Sunday night.

Also had a few spanish mackrel of the menu which was a big hit too.

Went out to the white bouy with little real success. Wind kicked up around 1400hrs right from the launch which made for a heavy paddle back I would put the wind a easy 15mph so when I started to see caps I am glad I started to head back. Saw a few renters really struggling to get back to MBK and slowed down my pace to assist. All in all loads of bait fish with a few whales in the mix.

These little jewels are in fact very tasty (literally sweet). Most won't miss with them because of there size but with some work a whole stringer can be put together for one tasty meal. When I go to MBK they are always the fish I target with anything else a bonus. Very easy to clean and fry up.
