We must not let this upstart site, which has already pooched many members then boosted about it, win!

Cool ... you and skyboy have a plan?  They grow some big trout in Idaho.

Jim,

We just had a cast and blast on the 8th, shot our turkeys by 10am, and caught over 40 steelies of the little salmon by the end of the day. I will try to post some pics latter today. Pend Oreille has some huge trout, as does many other lakes and rivers, this should be a easy win for the potatoe state, but I am still learning how to fish without the swells.......lol.

Jim and Joe, get ahold of "mountain main" at NWKA.  The Panhandle is his neck of the woods and I think Pend Oreille is one of his regular haunts.

How did this end up?  Which state has bragging rights?  How many participated?  Just curious.

Low turnout as we didn't push it that much.  I think I won it with a 30 inch lake trout ... http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,13248.msg124696.html#new

I think it's a cool idea that I look forward to expanding next year with a bit more time and effort.

Way to go Allen.  I remember reading your post but since there was no mention of the tourney, I wasn't sure.

I think it's a cool idea that I look forward to expanding next year with a bit more time and effort.

I was bummed that I couldn't participate.  I'm definitely excited to hear that it will return next year and am looking forward to joining in the fun.

You know ... there is a yearly tournament held each year in the marlin fishing world.  It's quite the big deal and is held every 4th of July.  Participants around the world vie for top honors and you get reports at every end of the day whenever that is where ever the guys are fishing.  I'd love to see something like this happen in the kayak fishing world.  Trout probably doesn't cut it as you don't get trout everywhere.  Perhaps bass would work well or a combination of species.  Would love to get more feedback regarding something like this.  It would take a lot of work to figure out the logistics to put something like this together.  But it would be a lot of fun, don't you think?
