Soooo when will we "return to the Lost Coast"?  :smt003

Sonny, I was so close to telling Etienne to drive up here today and we'd try tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning.  With Easter family obligations, the bite not being there yesterday, and the forecast not being a sure thing I just couldn't make that call.  I'll still be watching it closely tomorrow and Sunday morning and I'll be very very tempted to hit the road and get a little troll in if it sounds good - sorry, Etienne!   :smt009

The good news is that the end of next week is looking like it might actually flatten out.  This view is a new page a good friend referred me to and I've been studying, so I don't know how reliable it is yet.  The other day it called for a tight gradient storm to be over norcal waters next Thursday with up to 30'+ swells just off Oregon - now it's flipflopped to moderate swells dropping that day...  So I'll keep watching it, and again I'll have what I think is a good forecast by around Tuesday based on my usual sources.  Closing weekend is huge for me - if it's flat and there's any kind of bite I'll hit it as hard as WAF allows and beyond!   :smt003

If you're not getting skunked on occasion, it just means you're not fishing enough. Nice try and beauty of a day!

Thanks, mADmAnM!  People like you are a big part of the reason for my own MADNESS!   :smt045

You calling me bait, Naoaki?!  I've been called worse!   :smt003

The water was flat and the mammals at the Bell were just lounging - as usual.  They will lay on the buoy endlessly, and it was flat enough for about four of them to "raft" alongside the buoy, which is where they basically float in a little group with their fins up in the air, like this photo shows:

no, reason that I asked is because last year they're chasing some bait in front of my house (the birds were diving too).  I picked up some bait there & used it & hooked a salmon.  I lost that salmon (only salmon of that year... :smt010) right next to yak cuz I didn't have a bigger net & got bait stolen twice after that...
They're pretty scary tho... each time I try to make bait, they came after me like a pack of wild dogs. :smt009
