I needed a first-hand report, and today was the window.  Got in the water at 12:40 and out just before 3 so I could get back to town and pickup the kids from school.  Logged 5 miles on the GPS - nearly all trolling first a WMA for a bit, then my favorite DeepSix, flasher, chovie w/ hoochie.  Picked up and released one black rockfish on the way out to the Whistle where I talked to the only powerboat on the water - they weren't getting any bites either.  They headed for the Old Man and said on the radio that there was nothing out there either.  The water was awesome - slight breeze and sunny, low swell and not much chop at all.  It felt real good to get the paddling in, but I want some pink meat!   :smt001

I try to make my videos worth the time - a little under 6 minutes on this one.   :smt006

Nice video, Eric. It looked like a perfect day up there. Gotta love that flat-as-glass Shelter Cove landing!

What kind of video rig did you have?

I'm running with a 7.2 megapixel Sony digital camera, Bill.  I even lost a significant amount of quality when I published it (due to length and added graphics).  Those little cameras are great.  I have it on a tripod with the three legs stuffed up under the straps on the Gator hatch of my X-Factor.  I'm having lots of fun with that.   :smt001

If I double-spaced, Don, my posts would be so long I'd probably get my ass booted out of here!   :smt003

Is that why it bugs them?

I thought it was just eaiser to read post double spaced. Maybe I'll give it a try and break thru my own OCD... I have been better about :smt100

not posting " Danglin " after every post. It's a work thing habbit...

Great report as usual. A fish would have been NICE but just looking at those conditions I'm sure made being on the ocean worth the effort. Cant wait to get up there some day. Good luck next time!!

I figure that since I'm not in grade school any longer, I don't need to double space so the teacher can add corrections. Seems to me that it's common practice to use the double space only at the beginning of a new paragraph. Of course, maybe I'm wrong.

Perhaps I should

consider the possibility

that double spacing

really is easier

to read.

Or, if you really have a problem with small type, just move to a larger type face

Way to get out there Eric.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I've given up on going after Salmon in CA this year. The effort/reward ratio is just too low.  I"m trying to figure out dates for an AK trip. Heck, even thinking about two short trips, as I'm now flying enough for work that airfare will be very minimal. I'd love to hit the Kenai for Kings and Reds again, but Kodiak Silvers are also sounding great.
