Got a site at StatePark and will be there FRIDAY morning thru SAT-eve ..maybe til sunday if it's good?
I've got a site in the KelseyCreekArea#51..come on up/down, fish the day, kick-it afternoon, eat and fish the FRI-NITE's FULLMOON w/o the need of lights(first time attempt in the krazy darkness called Clearlake!)
Sites will allow only 2 vehicle per. but can have 6-tents(you have to park elsewhere in over-flow lot)
sqatters w/o cars welcome!....or get your own site and LIVE IT UP!
There are LiveMinnows available at *Fastop* in Lakeport....the StatePark is not far from there.
All places mentioned in this post are GOOGLEABLE!
SeeUthere!...DON'TbeSQUARE!  :happy11:

*side hook:last year I went around this same time(a week too late) and missed the BIG Females feasting.
So I wanted to hit it ON TIME this year.
last years report= JuanMako1 and myself  landed over 30LMB each! that were all cookie cutters from 15"-18"(see pic1&2) on senkos (Terry/HydroSpider too.)
Even the crappie were hitting!
add the two- 5+lbrs. Juan fooled and we had a EPIC TRIP!.....that's about to be matched.

Does that place fill up? I guess I should make reservations.

I will be there Saturday daytime and staying overnight.  Hopefully I can post some pictures Sunday night with some of H2Ospider's "standard issue" LMB!  It looks like the weather is going to cooperate!

if you are? follow 29 all the way to state park.....it winds thru the Mtns. for 30min or so, then not bad after that....it takes me 2.5hrs from carquinez bridge.
check the google maps for pin-point view.

Damn I was hoping to join in the fun but my Sat. off was just cancelled.

that's not right.......giveith then takeith?  I'm trying to break in that pole you gave me Mike....got a brand new Spirex one-finger deal on it for tossing around lures.  It's got a backbone stronger than my old noodle-classics had.

Adam, good luck with Friday and the full moon.  I will see you Saturday, mid-morning.  How far from the state park will you be fishing?

luck it will be!...I did do it,last year. stuck around the creek and spots that we hit during the day. Caught a few at night and got me fired-up a lil'.
I'm hopin we can find some in/off the few creek inlets for sure. The larger, longer and more hunt-grounds is KELSEY creek to the left of camp, the other is smaller and right behind camp. I got cell coverage up there and I'll pm it to you.
side tip***if your tossing senkos, 5" will do it...I've twice(to trips) tossed the phat7" and only a few compared to the ACTION on the smaller ones...wacky or straight, both work!
If the weather stays like THEY SAY?   *70deg. up there today!  When you get out, keep looking for tullie(s) that stick-up away from the shore. Toss to and around them before paddling TOO CLOSE!
last year and 3weeks ago, YOU can SEE lot of them, preparing to do the bed thing.
I'm looking down for them on one-side of the mighty J.Lee, took a glance over the other and 4 are escorting me thru thier spot already!  first time I actually sat right over them and pissed em' off till they hit the small jig, shaking in thier bed!
(SEE PIC#1) look in the foreground, see the tullies that pop up? there are BIG rocks/clusters, scattered about, making GATHERING/WARMING spots.

I'll shoot a few pics to give you somthing to VISULIZE for the 3hr drive time.

pic2~ a crappie that was bedding with the BASS that got angry about this white worm, gettin jiggy in its HIZZY!

pic3~ Terry and Freddie in KELSEY CREEK.

MORAL of SHORT STORY!.....keep your eyes down and if you see them in areas? there in other SAME kinda areas.....don't let them see you at first.....try to cast into an area BEFORE YOU GET TO IT.
DUDE! you shouldn't be asking me these kind of questions that require such DETAILED ANSWERS so early in the morning!  :smt044

Adam, I will be rollin' in late Friday night. I get off work at 6pm figure I will be there around 10 pm or so. I will cruise by your site. If it seems doable I will pitch there otherwise I will just get another site close.
What times does the bait shop open???
Probably shouldn't have had 5 beers with dinner before loading the vehicle right now.
LOL
I am thinking about fishing when I get there around 10 pm. Bringing my lights. make sure you have your radio on if you are on the water.

GD this sounds like a good time!   :smt009 I have a driveway paving project I have to complete at my house!  Sink 4x4's build retaining wall to level area, back fill, get paved, yada yada yada.   I'd much rather be going on this trip!  Pains of new home ownership I guess.  This is my last sizeable project for a while.
I have to get out on some water more now!

That crappie pictured is a hog!  Did it become a meal?
