1/27 Fishing in the storm

I got to Anderson after 10 AM and found the wind again.  > I launch anyway and I was the only soul fishing on the water in the whole lake. No powerboats, only 3 kayaks doing a pleasure run. 15 mph winds tossed me around pretty good but it stopped at mid-day when the thunder and rain was pouring down. Well, I kind of missed this kind of action, but it was very slow. May be I had some bites but the wind did not let me feel them at all.

A break in the wind came and stayed for three whole hours!  It was gorgeous. I began to feel the bottom and the bites. It was a soft bite again and I missed more than half of them. Managed to get 5 and one sdr. Biggest one came at the last minute and it was a nice 17.5"er.

The water was still clear ~5' visibility. A tad colder than yesterday. All the bites came between 15'-25'.

I would say that I'm surprised to see you fishing in such crappy weather...but I am not surprised. You like to fish. A lot. And some rain isn't going to stop you!

I probably can't go fishing this wknd so please go catch a some more bass and post pics for me LOL. That way, I can live vicariously through your reports. But maybe some surf perching next wknd?

  Me hardcore? I don't think so. Compared to those who go out for salmon and rock fish in the big blue, I think what I do is pretty mellow.
