big sur was blown out as far as we could see.

got stung in the face by some brown jellyfish. i went to clear my sinuses and smashed a handful of tentacles on my face, that was a feeling unlike any other. there were jellies all over south butterfly. i am still in pain.

and then got a few fish. had fun doing slow drops on some olive rf on real tall kelp stalks.

this was the biggest one of the day. visiblity was over 50 feet in some spots easily. made ceviche with my wife and now we are full.:  )

cant wait to go again~!

John,
Wow that was really nice! I had never seen a goat in Butterfly, and that was not due to lack of diving there.
50 ft vis? Wow wow wow.
I went down to Big Sur and dove a spot with 10-15 ft vis. Caught a mess of big olive rockfishes and cabazon. Lots of lings and they know about the closure!

we dived first straight off the beach on the north side of Butterfly house in about 55-65 ft of water. i saw about 6 sheeps total and we toook two of them. they were at the bottom scooting around.

some people dont like them but i enjoy eating them. i only make ceviche of them.

i hope to go again soon!

Wow! That is a very nice sheephead!
Way cool you got it off the B-fly house. My friend was fishing off the rocks there that same day.
Thanks for the report+pics,
PK
