you betcha! :salut:

im down for sunday!!!!
Jason....do you have what is needed to do it?   we have to anchor fish, it's in a slough(montezuma) but the current can get crazy.  Search the site for some info: Articles on front page,left-side and a quick-release anchor is a must for safety. I'll be hunting them for the rest of the year(5 weekends left) so if you can't make it due to:needing more crap, don't put yourself in danger(yet) :smt003  and then I'll be needind another one for next years AOTY 08'....so there will be more ops.   but if your DOWN, I'm DOWN!

Jason -

I don't know much about SIK's, however for anchoring in current in the delta or bay hunting dinos, I am not sure I would choose the small SIK likie what you normally paddle. Not meaning any disrespect for your ride, but it is a safety issue.  May be better to wait for a larger group and borrow a longer SOT. Lot's of us have extra yaks which are already rigged with quick release anchor systems. After all, you are on a roll and where are you going to put a 40# sturgeon on your yak?  :smt003 Just my humble opinion. Whatever you decide, good luck and be safe.

Adam, if you have any problem in digesting any dinos you get, I'd be more than willing to help out. :)  Maybe I'll see you on the water soon.

I will be at Montezuma on Sunday; launching at Belden's.
Where is there a bait shop along the way? I will be headed through Sacto and down 80 to Fairfield, hang a left on 12 then a right on Grizzley Island road. I would like to find a shop along the way that is open early and the closer to the fishing destination the better.
I hope to be on the water around 7, but prob closer to 8.

Adam~
Sunday calls for cloudy conditions with only a 10% chance of rain. A high of 60 degrees. Winds from the south up to 15 mph ( usually starts picking up around 11 ). Sounds perfect. :smt044 :smt013
I would definitely recommend a thermos of hot coffee and a piss bottle. Please do not confuse the two.
Dress warm but be ready to shed layers. Bring a dry bag.
The nice thing about Montezuma as opposed to the other places is what appears to be an easy launch and a short paddle to the fishing grounds. It has proven itself to hold fish. It is for those reasons I am choosing this spot over the others. I am sure there will be stripers in there too.
CH 69 as always.

Thats the CALL!  sat. is gonna be the WINDier? on the two.   There are two bait shops.  1)Suison Bait? right on GrizzIs.Rd intersection, behind& right of Mickey D's......NOTE!!  i went last fri=windyashell, pulled plug :smt012  Returned next day to find NO GRASS SHRIMP, on its way from Petaluma, wait 1hr. :smt013  had breakfast and walked around the strip-mall area, returned and was told, he's on the way, 45min........after 10:30 the trees started blowing and i pulled the plug again.

there is another one that a couple of guys were talking about on HWY 12, afew blocks headed back towards 80. I will investigate and give afew calls to locate some bait by then. Even if there is a shortage of shrimp, i'm sure we can find an alternative.....there are bait shops in Vallejo (on my way) that are gonna be on the call list too.

Shawn,  the depth varries, depending on where in the slough you chose.
My one trip, in 30fow + 60ft. of rope= movement
                     20fow = no movement
there are lots of areas to fish, it is a slough that will have boat traffic the whole time, due to the recent report of EXCELLENT FISHING there. I witnessed most action, along the edge of the slough, where it dropped and was flat/shelf at approx. 12ft -20ft,anchor down and try to get your offering right where the flat meets the edge..food gets pushed and pulled in the underwater conveyor-belt.(sure sounds good, dosen't it!)
Location is GOOGLEABLE,  Belden's or Montezuma slough boat launch ($5cash machine) on Grizzly Island   off 80 in Fairfield to hwy12/RioVista
be sure to do some "homewrk" on your riggin, then come on out!

I think I will stop by Safeway or SaveMart and pick up some shrimp to be on the safe side. I will even bring some cocktail sauce in case the bite isn't hot.
Gonna bring some popsickles too, maybe a few clams.
I know it is gonna be cold but I want to get in some decent fishing before the wind picks up so I will start early. It is a lot easier to get settled in on a spot when it is calm.
Thanks for reminding me about bringing the noose. Forgot last time...not that it mattered.
