I'm totally down for Saturday. If you feel like back-to-back days of rockfishing.

On a completely different note: PM me if you're interested in a rockfish/crab combo trip on a 6-pack out of Monterey on Sunday. I was planning to go fishing with a freind but then realized my wife's Bday is Sunday....D'OH!!!

Yakuza,

If I don't end up going diving Saturday I might be interested in joining you.  Let me know where you plan to launch from.

Yes, I am definitely going rockfishing on Saturday. Either Monastery beach/Carmel River beach or Stillwater Cove.
Saturday's forecast shows a small window of opportunity: 3-7ft NW swell.

Not so good for your WAF account  :smt075 . Anyway, advance  :occasion13: to your better half.

I am a newbie and never done the ocean before. Really excited in doing it before the season ends. Two concerns... a) sea sickness; b) beach entry and exit. I guess I have all the gear needed; wetsuit, booties, tackles, etc. If anyone willing to give a 101 and guide me I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I am just back from China and still need to reorganize my gear from the Islander trip but, I am up or rockfishing on Saturday.  Let me know the time and place and I will plan on joining you.

On a related note, while in Shanghai, I walked in to a store called Mountain 360 and they had a display with an OK scrambler and two Kayak fishing posters.  I got all excited and asked if they sold many kayaks, did people kayak fish in Shanghai, and was there any public or sport fishing in the area?  The answer to all was no.  Cool display anyway.  I will post a photo later under general talk.

I'm thinking of going out Saturday 11/23 too, but am in kind of a late fall mood about it: we had the first frost this morning in Santa Cruz, so I'm thinking I'm not going to be going very early, then the wind was up here above 10 by 10,but on and off,  but you wouldn't know it by looking at the weather stations. I've got a new dry box (thanks SCAllen) and crate setup I have to test before salmon season opens.  I'll probably head to SWS to see if there are any more lings in last week's spot.  But I'm open to suggestions.

unless I hear otherwise, heading to SW as early as my old bones feel like getting there in the cold!  Plan on heading out and then towards the right.  Will be monitoring 69.

Yes it was chilly this morning.  I will head to Stillwater as that will be the best "meat" option for those who want it.  I will shoot for early but who knows with the effects of jet-lag, gluttony, etc.  See you there.
