Felt it pretty good down in Monterey, surprisingly enough...maybe its the new hardwood floors. It was the first time I felt that fatherly instinct kick in...grabbed my son and flew out the back door before my wife even knew there was a quake!

The Loma Prieta was intense. At the time, I lived pretty close to the epicenter, in the hills between Gilroy and Watsonville. My parents' wine cellar fell over and most the bottles broke...then the cat drank up lots of the wine and ingested glass shards...and we had to "send him on a cruise to Jamaica." Or, at least, thats what my mom told me...HEY, wait a minute! There never was a cat cruise to Jamaica...was there?! D'OH!
