  Yeah baby!   Rode the :wav: out with no problems, (stained shorts don't count here) Normally don't feel anything less than a 4, this was felt!  Glad no real damage came from it anywhere.

That is the first one I have really felt in my 12 years of being here. It was intense for sure. I felt the one this afternoon pretty good as well.

<yawn...>

I rode out Loma Prieta in '89...this was a kiddie ride.  We were eating dinner when it hit last night, and while the family was getting wide-eyed I was yelling "woo-hoo!" and sneaking an extra portion while my wife was distracted...  :smt003

I gotta agree with Usagi. After experiencing the 89 quake this was childs play. I didn't even flinch. What was kinda weird though was I was standing out on the back porch and I heard it before I felt it.

Funny how that works, isn't it?  I remember another quake...I think it was the Coalinga one, don't remember for sure, where the same thing happened to me.  I was a mail carrier in Los Gatos, pushing my mail cart along my route when the quake hit.  I didn't feel a thing, but noticed what sounded like bowling balls rolling down the hallway of this big Victorian I was approaching.  Walked up to the house and this little old lady runs out all big-eyed, asking "Did you feel that? Did you??"  :smt005

 Yeah, the "rumble" may not be as loud as that from lightning, but it is WAY more sinister and bone chilling!  Back in 89' I was living in downtown Santa Cruz. (right off of Ocean St. the main drag into town) The spookiest thing I remember seeing that day,(besides the raw sewage start flowing in the gutters) was watching the waves of the quake roll down the streets! The Waves appeared to 6"- 12" high!

During the Loma Prieta shake, the only thing that fell over was my computer monitor (into my lap). Nothing else was affected. And the first aftershock made me a bit "seasick."
