What to do during bad ocean weather days?

The ocean weather has been good for the last couple of months, and I've gotten a lot of fishing.  However, the weather doesn't look good for the next week. I've been searching for additional activities.

• Paddle Stealth kayak along Noyo River and Navarro River (Albion)
• Bike riding along the ocean trail
• Explore hiking trails
• Car maintenance - Need oil change wife's car
• Sell items that have not been used (Market Place & Craigslist)

Albion River is a great paddle IMO, but better in good weather, not the upcoming forecasted rain and wind.

How about clean, inventory and organize/tuneup garage and fishing gear? I’m guessing you already have that as you fairly recently moved your your current location

  Very interested in trying Jade Hunting.  I will do some research.

Today, I will be heading to the Noyo River.  I ordered some additional shelves from Costco to organize the garage.  Also, doing some wife's honeydew list.  Making a wooden "Welcome" sign.

The heaviest wind and rain days are some of the best times to watch the drama of mother nature play out on the coast.  I usually grab a thermos of coffee, hop in the truck and beach hop, watching the surf from the comfort of my cab. Empty beaches, nobody on the road, beach combing between squalls……and bonus….the busiest restaurants are usually super easy to get seated quick and with ocean views. 

This storm pre-empted the one that took out the SC wharf but I think it was the one that did the real damage.

6. Explore other areas for mushroom foraging, and get permit for Jackson Demonstration Forest so you will be ready when the season starts.

7. Table tennis at the Redwood Coast Senior Center in Fort Bragg.

Really friendly group of regulars. There are some pretty good players but no tournament-level folks. Not the place for a total beginner but if you can at least comfortably keep a rally going you’d be fine. It’s a good workout!

My wife and I take a morning walk along Ten Mile Beach or Laguna Point and enjoy watching the ocean.

Got the permit already and already started scouting.  Will be doing additional hiking in the potential mushroom-hunting area.

I have not played table tennis for over 40 years, but I might give it a try.

She is not much into shopping, except going to the nursery or Home Depot to buy flowers and plants.

When the weather is too bad to kayak fish, I think about kayak fishing. When I get tired of that… Well, that hasn’t happened yet.
