I'm not sure about surfing and mountain biking, but I would be interested in learning Wing Foil.

There are 100 of miles of trails in the redwoods, just park at the Caspar Scales, mark your location and start hiking (or biking) its a beautiful place to explore
Kayaking the Noyo is great too
Lost coast trail is pretty epic as well, for hiking/backpacking

Been searching hiking trails in Jackson Demonstration State Forest to scout a potential mushroom forage area.   My wife didn't want to do any backpacking and sold all my gear.
Did the Noyo River cruise last Sunday and enjoyed it.  Practiced paddling for 7 miles.  One of the baby seals chased me for a mile.

I like to take spin classes, but not many choices around Fort Bragg.
No hunting for me yet, and no salmon to smoke.
I have been doing research on another major home improvement project, Solar System.  I am getting close to a DIY solar project over our garage.

Maybe next year, I might start doing freshwater kayak fishing.

Learn how to make jigs and tie flies.  That's what I do when weather is bad.  Also, pick up other hobbies.  I have two other hobbies, such as photography, and table tennis.  It's a good time to make some Halloween props too, since Halloween is coming up.

Cool new and different recipes with the fish leftover in your freezer!

I also ride bikes - mostly mixed terrain, but some dedicated mountain biking too.

This!! I still have the "waves" from my skeleton crew kayak fishing display a few years ago. Might have to tweak it a little and roll it put again this year.

I just signed up for my first ever foot race.

sure it has beer involved, and it is completely for fun and charity, and everyone gets a participation trophy..

but its my first race.  time to start upping my distances daily so I dont look like a total doofus.

10k.  join me Paul!!  6.2 miles.

I'm not really a runner, but occasionally run/jog 2.2 miles in the hills with Mabel. I did a flat 5k trail run one year and then followed that up with a 10K that was anything but flat on Mt. Diablo (Brazen Racing).
I got edged out of a 3rd place win in my age category on the 5K, and didn't want to get edged out on the 10K. So I put some real effort in it. The upshot is that I seriously thought I might be having a heat attack and was eyeballing the medical tent at the end of the race, but managed 2nd place in my age group (out of maybe 6 people). Trail running is so much better than pavement running. I see tarantulas and snakes and hopefully avoid the repetitive stress injuries. But I'm not really a runner.

The heaviest wind and rain days are some of the best times to watch the drama of mother nature play out on the coast.  I usually grab a thermos of coffee, hop in the truck and beach hop, watching the surf from the comfort of my cab. Empty beaches, nobody on the road, beach combing between squalls……and bonus….the busiest restaurants are usually super easy to get seated quick and with ocean views.

This storm pre-empted the one that took out the SC wharf but I think it was the one that did the real damage.

I could not agree more.  When I lived closer to the ocean, I would love to go down and see her in full fury!  one of the most impressive sites I've ever seen.  The size, height and weight of water that gets moved is so impressive, and always different.  If you're close, and have some wet weather gear, it's a blast.  When I was in HS and College, we'd do a bunch of stupid stuff and get way to close - beer-teen stupidity.

even the milder storms, squalls etc are fun to watch from the right vantage point.

now I'm too far, so I just do home projects....boring.... :)

I am not a runner.  I don't think my knee can take distance running.  I prefer 100-mile bike riding.

I heard great things about Yoga, but never participated. I might have to give it a try.
