East Bay Regional Park District starting trout plants this week. Del Valle, Chabot, Shadow Cliffs, and Quarry Lakes each received 1,000 lbs of Lassen trout. I will be going one of the days this weekend to Shadow Cliffs to get some more practice in the new kayak.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to getting the kids out for some trout.  They don't have school tomorrow.... Might hit up Shadow Cliff in the tin boat. Will have to see how they feel after trick-or-treating tonight, haha.

Well, got a late start, and spent about 4 hours on the water with my son. 2 dink bass and a couple drive-bys that didn't stick.  Handful of folks on the water, lots of folks on the shore.

Should get better after a few more plants and as the water gets a little cooler. Today surface temp was 67.

Thanks for the report!
Agreed they usually need a few plants to really get lit.

I paddled around for about 4 hours. Picked up one small trout, a large mouth bass, and hooked something big, and it got off while I was trying to reach the net.

I fished Quarry Lakes today from 3 to 5pm. Landed a 6.3 lber on Rapala J9 Perch.  Trout fishing should get better with more plants on the way.

Nice work! I'm prob gonna try Chabot in a few days. Won't have time to go crabbing, but still gotta get on the water a little.

During the early season, it has been productive for me in the Halfmoon Bay area and around the dam (deep water.) The Racoon Pt. (shallow water) bite picks up as the water temperatures get colder.

Shadow Cliffs received another plant of Lassen trout this week. I will most likely go again on Saturday.

Good News, Mark.  Do you happen to know if other lakes received a second plant?

Change of plans - my window shortened dramatically. So, maybe a couple hours at Contra Loma tomorrow. Will report back results.
