I finally took the trip out to Del Valle for the first time. We loaded up the yaks and hit the lake early.

After fishing all day we have a big donut (0) to show for it.

We didnt see too many people pulling anything it. Did this lake slow down very abruptly? This was the first time I have gone there so it is likely that we were not fishing the good spots.

Yes, the kung-fu was weak yesterday. But is was fun none the less just getting out on the water.

We tried virtually everything except live bait. I did, however, forget to pack the F7 so that was not in the arsenal!

We fished both sides and the middle from the harbor up to the next big opening. We did not get all the way up to the dam.

GreatBass2 - I would love to meet up with on saturday, but I will not be able to hit the water for a few weeks. I will not have time the next couple of weekends. How late into the year do you fish Del Valle. Maybe we can meet up later this month to pass along the secrets of del valle

Yes young Bulldog, my mitichlorines have been temporarily disrupted due to the disruption in atmospheric changes.

Yeah, it happens, but just being out on the water with nothing to worry about is part of the fun of yak fishing!

San Luis Res is east of Gilroy, near the HWY 152 and HWY 5 junction.

And don't worry, I've been skunked at Del Valle a couple times too! Think of it this way: you're just saving up karma for the next trip there!
Thanks for the report!

I usually fish DV till the beginning of December depending on the planting schedule. http://www.ebparks.org/activities/fishing/anglersedge#planting

In the spring I fish all of the east bay lakes particularly the san pablo opening weekend. I always post in hookups when I go out so you are welcome to join any time.  :smt006 I will be hitting the forebay latter this month for a SB fly fishing adventure.

GB2: I will keep an eye on the hookups section to see when you are heading out to DV. Hopefully I can meetup with you sometime soon to get the lowdown on DV.

gettin skunked is the bad half of HOOKIN UP!  Gettin out on the water and puttin in time is what it's ALL about.
...consider it a down payment on GOODTIMES(for the next outing)...that's how I fool myself :smt001
