Shasta Trinity Backcountry Discovery Trail

I was supposed to go to Oregon last weekend to shoot ground squirrels and prairie dogs, but the trip got cancelled literally as I was leaving Santa Rosa for Redding on Thursday afternoon.
Since I had Friday off and had a non-refundable hotel room in Redding, I decided to replace my guns with my recovery gear and hit a chunk of the Shasta Trinity BCD. I hit the section circled below.

The section I hit was super mellow with some pretty sweet views. I only put my truck into 4H on a slippery part of the trail but it's definitely not needed if you stick to the main route. I can't wait to go back soon and do the whole trail.

 

 

 

 

 

Looks like a lot of fun Dustin. It's so nice to be able to get away from civilization sometimes. It'd be even better if you could get in some fishing.

Nice, I enjoy living vicariously through your posts. Once my daughter's summer day camps start up next week, I'm going to try to get out and retrace your steps on some of these routes.

For sure. The JAH Runner can do any of these trails....or you can always ride shotgun with me.
