I’m very pleasant, but some of the unpleasantness that’s entered my brain is spilling back to the source.

There was no unpleasantness there.  Many of us are tight.  We can say shit to each other like that like brothers teasing each other, adding levity to a situation that may seem not so funny.  Sorry that the humor is not so humorous to you.
