Ive spent the weekend in tears on and off, because this is the time my brother Matt and I usually do our best to make this trip each year. I came here wondering how things went with all that’s going on in the world.

I’m really sorry to hear it got cancelled. I hope you all can make it happen next year. This event will always have a special place for me in my heart. And I’m deeply missing my brother.

Feeling your pain Brother. Its terrible to lose a loved one. I would imagine it would be a little tougher losing a brother. Hope to see you at a gathering hopefully soon. Glad to see a post from you.

Thanks for posting, Ryan.  When you shared with us how Matt had passed I was hurting over it for sure.  What I try to accomplish with Gimme Shelter has so much to do with what you and your brother represent.  When I met you and Matt and spent time with you guys I felt fortunate to have experienced it.  Your bond and the context overall made my interaction with you and Matt a very special part of my GS memory bank.  I will always hold you two close to my heart.  Much love, my friend.  Hold your head high and keep living life with strength and honor.  I hope to fish with you again.   

I can remember it like yesterday—relaxing on the deck at the deli after another epic day of fishing, talking to Matt about his truck while eating lunch...two years ago.  Hang in there Ryan, we miss you!
